As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum — Dhū al-Ḥijjah 1447 AH begins Monday, May 18, 2026. We invite our Northwest Ithnaasheri community to deepen worship this sacred month: observe the recommended fasts of the first nine days, join daily congregational prayers at IMAN, and participate in Qur’an Study Circle as we continue Sūrat Al-Aʿrāf.

Key dates to note: Day of Arafah — May 26; Eid al-Adha prayer — Wed, May 27 at 9:30 AM (followed by refreshments); Eid al-Ghadir — Jun 4; Eid al-Mubahila — Jun 10. Daily prayer timings and the full event calendar are available on our website.

With profound sorrow and deep gratitude for a life richly lived in faith and service, we announce the passing of Marḥūm Dr. Nosratollah Cyrus Khatibi, who returned to his Creator on Thursday at the age of 96.

Dr. Khatibi was a man of remarkable dignity, intellect, and unwavering faith - truly one of a kind. Highly accomplished, he earned a PhD in Economics and devoted his early career to the service of his homeland, Iran, where he played a pivotal role in advancing major infrastructure and agricultural initiatives that contributed meaningfully to the nation’s development.

In a powerful testament to his resilience and strength of character, he later chose to move his family to the United States, rebuilding life anew with steadfast determination, dignity, and pride.

Beyond his professional achievements, Marḥūm was known for his deep compassion and generosity. He lived a life guided by service to others - extending help both through organized efforts and quiet, personal acts of kindness. He remained independent, active, and spiritually grounded until his final days, meeting life’s challenges with patience, grace, and a positive spirit.

He was a devoted husband of 57 years and a loving and guiding presence to his two sons. To all who knew him, he was remembered as an exceptional individual—intelligent, principled, and deeply cherished.

He leaves behind a lasting legacy of integrity, service, and treasured memories that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Marḥūm will be laid to rest on Monday , April 20, 2026 at 2:30 PM at Cedar Lawn Memorial, 7200 180th Ave NE, Redmond, WA 98052.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Khatibi family during this time of immense loss. May Almighty Allah (SWT) envelop the Marḥūm in His infinite mercy, grant him eternal peace, and bestow patience and comfort upon his loved ones as they navigate this difficult time — Āmeen.

In honor of Marḥūm’s memory and as a means of offering spiritual benefit, we humbly request all Mu’minīn and Mu’mināt to recite Sūrah al-Fātiḥah and offer Ṣalāt al-Waḥshah or Ṣalāt-e-Hadiya-e-Mayyit for the Isāl al-Thawāb of his soul. Your prayers and remembrance serve not only as a tribute to his enduring legacy but also as a source of solace for his grieving family.
