Dear Friends:
This weekend marks the 4-year 1 month anniversary of my becoming Pastor at Holy Spirit and the beginning of our Pastorate relationship with St. Stephen. We now begin the transition that we have been talking about and planning for these last few months. I want to thank all of you for the warm welcome you gave me and the trust you placed in me as I took over for your beloved Pastor of over 3 decades, Fr. Simmons. Your willingness to work for the good of the whole and to be supportive of each other were gifts to me and those who ministered with me. Holy Spirit has always struck me as a family of folks sharing their individual gifts for the benefit of one another. Thanks to our Staff and all who do the little, unseen and important things to make Holy Spirit so special.
I now pass the baton to a new Pastor. I have known Fr. Michael Triplett for nearly 30 years. I was assigned to his home parish, Sacred Heart in Glyndon as a Seminarian and met Fr. Mike who was a teenage Sacristan on the weekends. I was also blessed as a newly Ordained Priest to have him serve as a Deacon on Pastoral Year in my parish. He is a very wise and compassionate person, who has the unique ability to communicate God’s love for everyone in many diverse situations. I know that he will be a wise and prudent Pastor, pray for him daily and be open to his vision for our Pastorate. I know that God has a lot in store for Holy Spirit and St. Stephen. Know that you will always be in my prayers and I ask for your prayers as we all see what God has in store for us.
God Bless,
Fr. George
