A song comes on.
You see someone that looks like them.
You smell a familiar scent.
You drive by their school.
Or suddenly, you are crying in the grocery aisle.

These moments are normal. They mean you loved them deeply. Take a breath. Give yourself a moment. Let the feeling come without judging it.

"Fine"

"Fine" is the biggest lie I tell every single day.

People ask how I'm doing

and I hand them the one word

that ends the conversation before it starts.

Not because I'm actually fine.

Because the truth takes longer than they have time for.

Because I don't have the energy

to watch their face shift from casual to uncomfortable

the second I say something real.

Because "fine" lets them off the hook,

and honestly, it lets me off the hook too.

I don't have to relive it out loud

in the middle of a hallway, a checkout line, a work meeting.

So I say fine.

And they nod, relieved,

and we both walk away

pretending that word meant something true.

It didn't.

It never does.

"Fine" isn't an answer.

It's the door I close

so I don't have to let anyone in.

When your world feels like it's falling apart, creation reminds us that God is still holding it together.

After the loss of a baby, it's easy to wonder where God is and why life seems to keep moving while your heart stands still.

In this week's blog, we're reminded that the same God who formed the mountains, commands the seas, feeds the birds, and paints each sunset is the same God who is faithfully holding you.

You may not have answers to every "why," but you can rest in the One who governs every detail with perfect wisdom and unfailing love.

If your heart feels weary today, we pray this article encourages you to step outside, look closely at God's creation, and remember: the One who sustains the world is sustaining you, too.
