What makes Bridwell Heights Presbyterian different from other churches? Of course, being Presbyterian, we hold to a form of church government where the Church is ruled by a number of elders who are elected by the congregation. The word "Presbyterian" comes from the Greek word "presbyter" which means "elder." These elders are under Jesus Christ, and are therefore obligated to rule only under the au

thority of the Bible. We subscribe to the Westminster Standards as our doctrinal statement. It consists of the following documents:
