Micah is a book of fierce judgment against the failure of God's people to live like people of God. Their lack of mercy is a sign that, no matter how "faithful," they are to religious obligations, their hearts have not been allowed to change.

It has become so bad, Micah says, that even God's Temple in Jerusalem has become "Judah's high place..." an unauthorized place of worship.

Jesus described the Kingdom of Heaven as being like a man who goes out and sows in a field... and a road... and everywhere in between. What does that mean for us in our own proclamation of God's Gospel?

We return to our regular worship service schedule this Sunday, July 12, 2026. Sunday Prayer Time
On Sunday mornings from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. you may come to the Sanctuary to pray on your own in a pew, at the altar railing or in the Prayer Room. Pastor John will be present to pray with folks, to offer anointing or the laying on of hands if requested, and to administer the Sacrament of Holy Communion if anyone feels the need to receive it outside of a typical “Communion Week.”

Between the Lections
Follow Pastor John and Grace to stay in touch with God’s word throughout the week. Every Wednesday, a 20 minute reflection on the sermons they each preached the Sunday before is available. Change in Plans for Pool Refreshments
Due to expected inclement weather, our refreshment stand at the Pool is canceled for 07/11/2026. The Boba which was ordered will be repurposed for a later event. Tell the teens in your life that we have a bunch of boba and ask how we should use it.

One of the things that John Wesley altered about the Communion Liturgy when he wrote his "Sunday Service," for the first Methodists in the United States was cut the exhortation to self reflection ahead of Communion. Here is that exhortation, in full, from our recent, combined 1789 Service.

If a story is too good to be true, sometimes it is best to admit it is too good to be true. Jeremiah, in the midst of his ministry, had a prophet oppose him. Hananiah sought to win influence by preaching good, but ultimately false, news. Jeremiah preached a depressing, but true, message.
