The HR Women's Group Kickoff event is on Monday, September 21 at 7 pm in the Holy Family Chapel - there will be music, a speaker, and confession followed by a social. All women are welcome to attend. The HR Men's Group starts on September 12th from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. in the school auditorium, and all men are invited to attend.
Holy Redeemer's High School Youth Group is starting back up in a whole new way this fall! Our first meeting will be on Sunday 9/27 at 6pm. This program occurs during the 9:30 AM Mass, right after the introductory prayer and is an opportunity for the children to hear the readings and gospel with other children and talk about what the readings mean to them. We encourage all children in grades K-2 to be a part of the "Little kids" group which meets in front of the baptismal font and grades 3-5 to be a part of the "Big kids" group which meets below the lectern. Aftercare Staff
Holy Redeemer Catholic School, located in Kensington, Maryland seeks a part-time aftercare teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
After Care teachers help to create a caring and nurturing environment for our after-care students, ages 3 years and up. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Providing supervision to ensure safety to our Pre-K-5th grade students
2. Helping with snack
3. Facilitating play
4. Helping students with homework
QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Holy Redeemer will have a "Come and See" evening on Wednesday, September 16th at 7:30pm in the Community Room in the basement of the Church. The OCIA process will be explained, and all questions will be answered. Please call Jen in the rectory to let us know if you are interested. If you are interested in perusing OCIA, then we will meet most Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm in the Community Room. There will never be any pressure to join the Catholic Church, just come and see.

Childcare Helpers Needed – Earn $20/Hour!
Do you enjoy spending time with young children? Looking for a meaningful way to serve your parish while earning extra income?
The Holy Redeemer Women's Group is seeking one or two caring, dependable childcare providers for our Tuesday morning Bible Study beginning September 29, 2026, through the end of April 2027. You'll care for children ages 1 year (walking) and older in the church childcare room, conveniently located next to the Bible study meeting room.
Requirements:
• Age 18 or older
• VIRTUS trained (training can easily be arranged if needed) Location: Holy Redeemer Church, 9705 Summit Avenue
Tuesday Shifts Available:
• 8:15–9:30 a.m.
• 9:30–11:30 a.m.
(Work one shift or both!) Pay: $20 per hour

Holy Redeemer is seeking volunteers to count the offertory collections from Mass. Counting takes place on Sunday’s after the 11:30 am Mass or during the week on Monday or Tuesday morning in the rectory office. We need at least two—three people per week and need at least 4 groups/teams that can rotate once a month. We have streamlined the process and should take no more than two hours of your time. The Arimatheans is a ministry where volunteers serve as acolytes (altar servers) at funeral and memorial Masses, providing assistance to the priest celebrant. This work can be considered a corporal act of mercy, as we participate in the process of respectfully burying the dead by supporting the Masses. All adults are welcome; no experience is needed. The late term abortion facility (CARE), located in the Barlow Building at 5454 Wisconsin Avenue, Chevy Chase, MD is still in business. They perform abortions up to 35 weeks. There is a prayer gathering every Saturday outside the Barlow Building at 9:15 am. On Saturday, September 5, after the 8:30 am Mass, we would like to have a group of Holy Redeemer parishioners join in praying at the clinic for the protection of life. Want to put your pro-life beliefs into action? The Gabriel Project Cluster urgently needs women to be Angel Friends to befriend and deliver resources to struggling pregnant moms. Within the past 2 weeks, 42 clients have requested assistance. Twenty three of these have been assigned to Angel Friends. We hope to assign Angel Friends to 19 more clients in the next few weeks. The time needed to serve as an AngelFriend averages 30 minutes or less per week. We also need men to deliver and assemble cribs. We need 27 cribs to be installed in the next 6 weeks. We want our little ones to have a safe place to sleep. Some recent volunteers are husband-and-wife teams. The Holy Redeemer Women's Group is seeking one or two caring, dependable childcare providers for our Tuesday morning Bible Study beginning September 29, 2026, through the end of April 2027. You'll care for children ages 1 year (walking) and older in the church childcare room, conveniently located next to the Bible study meeting room.
Requirements:
• Age 18 or older
• VIRTUS trained (training can easily be arranged if needed) Location: Holy Redeemer Church, 9705 Summit Avenue
Tuesday Shifts Available:
• 8:15–9:30 a.m.
• 9:30–11:30 a.m.
(Work one shift or both!) Pay: $20 per hour

Holy Redeemer is seeking volunteers to count the offertory collections from Mass. Counting takes place on Sunday’s after the 11:30 am Mass or during the week on Monday or Tuesday morning in the rectory office. We need at least two—three people per week and need at least 4 groups/teams that can rotate once a month. We have streamlined the process and should take no more than two hours of your time. The Arimatheans is a ministry where volunteers serve as acolytes (altar servers) at funeral and memorial Masses, providing assistance to the priest celebrant. This work can be considered a corporal act of mercy, as we participate in the process of respectfully burying the dead by supporting the Masses. All adults are welcome; no experience is needed.
