As we continue our Pentecost series, “For the Common Good,” we’ll explore a story from the gospel of Matthew. In the story, Jesus says, “Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice’” What does that mean? And how does it relate to who Jesus eats and drinks with, and who he calls as a disciple? We’ll consider the tables we share and the company we keep. And finally, we’ll find ourselves welcomed to Christ’s table, invited to be recipients of God’s merciful love, as we share in Holy Communion.

Tim K. Murphy will accompany this week’s Hymns and provide music for this week’s Prelude, Communion Distribution, and Postlude. Jeffrey Frederic Paul will lead the ACC Choir for this week’s Special Music and lead us in this week's Hymns. Guest organist, Desmond Hartigan-O'Connor, will provide this week's Offertory. Nick Crump will serve as Liturgist and light the Prayer Candles. Childcare will be available during the service for children ages 2 and up.

On Trinity Sunday we celebrate and explore the mystery of the divine. What might it mean to be created in the image of a triune God? We’ll also look at Jesus’ commissioning of the disciples in Matthew 28, when Jesus says he’s been given “all authority in heaven and on earth.” What is the nature of Jesus’ authority, and what does it mean for those who are called to baptize and teach in Jesus’ name?

Jeffrey Frederic Paul will lead us through this week’s Hymns with music offerings from The ACC Choir and Bell Choir. Pastor Jen will preach and lead this week’s service. Elena Caruthers will serve as Liturgist and light the Prayer Candles. Childcare will be available during the service for children ages 2 and up.

On this Pentecost Sunday, we celebrate the gifts of the Holy Spirit, given to each of us for the common good. We’ll remember the story of the early church first receiving the Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. Then, we’ll hear stories of service from people in our congregation who are using their Spirit-given gifts in our wider community.

Tim K. Murphy will accompany this week’s Hymns and provide music for this week’s Prelude and Postlude. Jeffrey Frederic Paul will lead the ACC Choir for this week’s Special Music and provide this week’s Offertory. Pastor Jen will preach and lead this week’s service. Susan Wooton will serve as Liturgist and light the Prayer Candles. Childcare will be available during the service for children ages 2 and up.

Dont’ forget to Wear Red!

On this final Sunday of Eastertide, and the third Sunday of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage month, we will observe PAAM Sunday, celebrating the leadership of Pacific Islander and Asian American churches and people. As we lament the division and suffering of the world, we will remember the story of the Ascension of Christ, looking for the wisdom this ancient story carries forward for today about power and authority. We will also read some words of encouragement for the early church from 1 Peter 4 & 5 about resistance and power.

Tim K. Murphy will lead us through this week's Hymns and Special Music selections from the ACC Ensemble. Tom Dean will serve as Liturgist and Pastor Jen will lead worship and preach. Childcare will be available during the service for children ages 2 and up.

On this sixth Sunday of Eastertide we will observe "Mothering Sunday," a day to celebrate the divine feminine and the godly work of mothering, carried out by people (and animals!) of all genders in many different ways…from raising children, to caring for creatures and creation, to taking bold stands for justice and peace. In John 14, as Jesus bids his disciples farewell, he pleads with them to keep his commandments and promises to send the Spirit of truth to abide with them, to be near as they live in the love he has shown them. From Jesus’ words, along with Paul’s from Acts 17 about the God in whom “we live and move and have our being,” we will draw inspiration for the work of mothering. We'll make space for the grief that some carry on this day, but focus on the hope of abundant life we find in our abiding Mother God.

Jeffrey Frederic Paul will lead the ACC Choir with guest narrators Nick Crump and Susan Russell. Chieko Chambers and Linda Young will provide this week’s Offertory. Pastor Jen will lead this week’s service and Dudley Thompson will serve as Liturgist. Childcare will be available during the service for children ages 2 and up
