Aloha Kakahiaka Kakou!
This morning, I read quite a bit of God‘s word, my normal reading pattern out of the Old Testament in the New Testament, and to be perfectly honest with you, Nothing jumped out at me.
Nothing I felt was God speaking to me directly and or for me to apply to my life, and I thought “This is a teachable moment!”.
I was taught that when you go through periods in your life, whether it’s one day or 6 months, where you feel like the Lord’s not speaking or you can’t hear him clearly, here are some guidelines for ya:
1. Examine yourself and ask yourself “Am I living in sin, or do I have unconfessed sin, and I need to get right with my Father in Heaven?”
2. But what I was also thought is that- that’s not always the case. Sometimes The Lord will remain silent until we do that last thing that He asked us to do!!!(Word!!!)
3. There will also be times because of our living circumstances, stress, and different environmental changes and things we gotta deal with every day that we may be overburdened. Our brains may be too full and we can’t hear from God effectively during these times.
4. I was taught to remember the last thing He told you that you were SURE of. Remember that last INTIMATE time you had with Him where you knew that you knew that you knew that He was in your face, present, loving on you!
5. Hold onto the truth as the song says “hold on tight to your dreams!”. He’s still good even when we don’t understand Him, and we don’t hear from Him clearly. He still loves you, as do!!! I love you kakou, Kahu, J Kerr. 🤙🏽❤️💯👍🏽🙏🏽✝️🔥💦

Part of my Bible reading this morning was in chronicles and Samuel and in all honesty it was repetitive.
I have learned overtime when the Lord repeats something to me over and over it’s for a reason and he wants me to take notice of something.
Both books of the Bible that I read, spoke of Saul and his armor bearer.
Now Saul wasn’t the most upstanding Jesus like Guy. In fact, he lost his throne because he was disobedient to the Lord, and he also consulted mediums instead of God.
But one thing that stood out to me was the loyalty of Saul‘s armor bearer. I read it twice in both books.
Saul was about to get captured by the Philistines and he did not want to be tortured and have all kinds of horrible things happen to him so he asked his armor bearer to kill him. Not only did his armor bearer refuse to kill him, but after Saul fell on his own sword on purpose, basically committing su***de, his armor bear did the same to himself. Now that’s loyalty.
It got me thinking about a couple of things. I have many friends. I have many brothers and sisters in Christ. I have many family members. Loyalty is a quality that is few and far between if I’m being transparent. Because of human imperfection people say things that they wouldn’t necessarily say in front of you, but instead, they say it to others. Then there’s those that you have helped out many times and when you need help, where are they?
One of the things that I believe that we all should demonstrate and cultivate in our life is LOYALTY!!!
if you hear someone speaking negatively about someone who is a friend or a brother will you stop him? Are you LOYAL yourself? Do you practice not saying anything that you wouldn’t say in front of the person you are referring to? And what kind of friend are you? Are you a giver and a taker or maybe just a taker? I would encourage you to take honest inventory- that’s my job as your pastor.
God loves you right where you’re at but he also calls you to be more like Jesus, the most loyal one of all.
His words are as follows. Jesus shared these words with His disciples during the Last Supper, just hours before His own crucifixion: John 15:13- "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."
Please note that laying down your life can also mean making daily sacrifices of your time, comfort, and ego to serve others.
I love you kakou!(everyone)

Aloha Kakahiaka Kakou!
This morning when I went on my Bible app to do my normal reading, the generic scripture they had listed was 2 Corinthians 10 verse 5. Reading it and knowing the chapter, I felt led to write my devotional on what they listed and more of chapter 10.
The subheading reads: “The Spiritual War”. Those of you that have walked with Christ for more than a short period of time KNOW that it is most definitely a WAR. It is much easier to do whatever you want, whenever you want, however you want. It is easier, but not wise, there are consequences, and doing so eventually leaves you empty and unfulfilled.
Paul starts verse one off this way: “pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—who in presence amlowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.”
I love Paul’s writings. They are sincere and heartfelt. It is obvious that he cares deeply about the churches he is ministering to, or SERVING!!!
Verse 3 says this: “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.” Paul is pointing out that yes we have a daily battle with our “flesh”, but the battle should be fought in our hearts and minds!
I love verses 4 and 5. Here it is:
“4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”
These two verses changed my life and I have used them hundreds if not thousands of times counseling others.
When I came to Christ I had about 20 years of false doctrine to unlearn. I was literally brainwashed into what I now consider satanic at its core- a belief system NOT CHRIST BASED!!!
It took a lot of studying God’s Word and a heck of a lot of help from The Holy Spirit for me to learn and accept certain TRUTHS about God that eventually SET ME FREE!!!
At one time, the enemy literally had a stronghold over my mind as it says in verse 4. But God!!!
God was patient with me as I learned to “take those thoughts captive!!!” Thank You Jesus!!! God loves me and accepts me JUST AS I AM! His Son died for my sins. I am FREE!!! The behavioral changes came AFTER I learned the TRUTH!
What really helped me is the end of verse 5 where it says: “to the obedience of Christ”. I was no longer taking my thoughts captive just for my sake, but also to be obedient to Jesus!!! That made me wanna do it way more! To please my King!!!
Are there thoughts that haunt you that you know aren’t true but still you can’t seem to get them out of your mind?
I pray that this devotional and God Himself help set you free!
As my pastor used to tell me: “He’s not getting back up on that cross for you!”.
His work is done. You are forgiven. You are loved!
I’ll leave you with Jeremiah 29:11- “For I know the plans that I have for you, DECLARES the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
I love you kakou, Kahu J. Kerr

Aloha Kakahiaka Kakou!
Well, it’s the last day of the month. Are there things that you hoped and planned to accomplish this month that just didn’t happen? Well the good news is a whole new month is starting tomorrow. One of the things that I’ve had to work on in my life and haven’t perfected it just yet is not procrastinating. I have all these things that I wanna accomplish and sometimes when I’m working on one thing I get distracted and want to do another thing more. This is why it’s so important for me to stay close and talk to Jesus. He guides this easily distracted, slow learner in a way that no other could. Lol. I am grateful for his place in my life.
My unsolicited advice to you is to have Him help you plan your day, week, month, year, and life!
Part of my Bible reading this morning was about David sparing Saul‘s life the second time because he did not want to kill or harm God’s anointed. When they took the spear and water jug from Saul it says the Lord caused Saul’s army to be in a deep sleep.
I thought to myself that’s very cool. The Lord controls people sleep!
God knows I need more of it!!! Today focus on the sovereignty of God. You can trust that you can accomplish anything and everything that Hw calls you to do because he is sovereign and in control of all things- even your enemies sleep!!! lol Pray for your enemies as I pray for mine, and let us all pray for each other.
I love you kakou!

Aloha Kakahiaka Kakou!
This morning, I read out of 1 Samuel, Psalms, and 1 John.
I usually read out of the Old Testament and the New Testament each day simply because I enjoy it, I NEED it, and I like having counsel from both.
If I am stretched for time, I may just read either, but I ask The Holy Spirit to guide me on what to read. If I am really stretched for time, I’ll watch and/or listen to a sermon from one of the Bible teachers that I trust on YouTube.
Careful guys when watching stuff on YouTube or anywhere on the internet for that matter. The Bible says there will be many false teachers around in the times we are living in.(Matthew 7, 2 Peter 2) I’d be happy to give any of you my feedback on anyone you are listening to. ❤️👍🏽
What stood out to me in my readings this morning is the word “name”. We are taught in God’s word that there is power in his name.
David said in Psalm 54:1-
“Save me, O God, by Your name, And vindicate me by Your strength.”
‭‭ 1 John 5:7 clearly states that The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are ONE!
“For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.”
‭‭ David knew God as Yahweh or Jehovah.
After Christ revealed Himself as God The Son, The Messiah, and The “Word of God”, John wrote this in 1 John 5:13-
“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may KNOW that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”
‭‭ I encourage you when you pray, to realize and remember that there is POWER in the Name of JESUS!!! It also gives us as believers AUTHORITY! No demon or principality can stand against us!!! What a great privilege and weapon!!! The Name of Jesus! Hallelujah!
Philippians 2:9-11 says “Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Jesus gave His disciples assurance when He said in John 13:13-14- “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.”
Be Blessed today. Be encouraged. Be WITH HIM! I love you kakou, Kahu J. Kerr
🤙🏽❤️💯🙏🏽✝️🔥💦🗡️
PS- please notice in 1 John 5:13 above that we should KNOW that we have eternal life! Yessah! Mahalo ke Akua!

Aloha Kakahiaka Kakou!
Good morning everyone! I pray that the Lord blesses you today, but perhaps not in the way that you would expect or want. But instead with His presence and guidance and His tangible love.
I’m not praying for you to win the lottery. I’m not praying for you to get a raise or an inheritance from a rich uncle. But I am praying for the presence of God to be eminent in your life, to be noticeable, to be experienced and felt more than on an average day!
I feel this is the best prayer that I could pray for you or anyone. Yes, I pray for your protection. I pray for your health. I pray for your loved ones and family members and friends. But more than all else, I pray for the things mentioned above, in Jesus name, amen.
I read out of first Samuel this morning and I got pumped up and excited so much so that I began writing a sermon. And so you’re not gonna get to hear this morning anything about what I read in 1 Samuel. lol
My New Testament reading was in 1 John 3. He talked about us being children of God. Those of you that know me know that I say this all the time. When we realize that we are sons and daughters of the Most High God we act differently and live differently. Ponder on that today. 🙏🏽
Another thing I read that caught my eye was that he said “whoever hates his brother is a murderer”, just like Jesus said “if you look at another woman with lustful thoughts, you are an adulterer”!!!
When I read this, I felt a little rib jab from the Holy Spirit and I had to examine myself and ask myself “Is there anyone that I hate?”. I know there’s a lot of people that I strongly dislike and I would like to slap the taste out of their mouth, (www.transparentkahu.com) but I don’t act on it.
Hearing the scripture say- if I hate a person, then I’m a murderer shocked me.
And so I have to go back to the drawing board and EXAMINE MYSELF!!! Food for thought…… I love you kakou. Kahu J. Kerr 🤙🏽❤️💯🙏🏽✝️

Aloha Kakahiaka Kakou!
I’ve been watching a series on Netflix called “The Madness”, and although my Bible reading this morning out of 1 Samuel and 1 John had some good stuff in it, I believe The Lord wants me to talk about a subject related to the series I’ve been watching as well.
In it a man is framed and accused of a crime he didn’t commit. Most of the world was against him and believed he was guilty. He lost his job and even one of his closest friends who was an attorney wouldn’t represent him.
Many of you reading this have heard me say “Live for an audience of ONE”. That ONE is God. He knows all things and sees the heart.
At the end of the day and even at the beginning of the day, the only person’s opinion that matters is Jesus’. Sure it’s nice to have the approval of people, but sometimes this becomes a distraction.
This brings me to my Bible reading. King Saul lost his favor with God because he cared more about the people’s approval than God’s, which caused him to be disobedient to God’s instructions.
God said to him through Samuel ‘Obedience is better than sacrifice!’.(1 Samuel 15:22)
Talking about seeing the heart, God chose the youngest of eight, and least likely son of Jesse- David to be the next King of Israel.
Scripture says God saw his heart. (1 Samuel 16:7; 1 Samuel 13:14)
If you are going through a season or period where it seems that nothing is going your way and everyone is against you, please remember to “live for an audience of ONE”. Another good one is “Do your best. Trust God with the rest!”. And even on the days that you aren’t 100% or perhaps you fail miserably, TRUST in the Grace and Goodness of God! He sees your heart!!!
Be Blessed today. You are loved by Him. Even if you don’t feel like it, YOU ARE! Believe it!
I love you kakou, Kahu J. Kerr
