Genesis 3:1-24 | John 13:1-20 | Genesis 22:14-17

Genesis 3 shows the tragedy of sin entering the world through Adam and Eve's disobedience, bringing separation from God, pain, and death to all humanity. Yet even in judgment, God revealed His mercy and the first promise of redemption. In Genesis 22, Abraham's willingness to offer Isaac demonstrated complete faith and obedience, and God provided a substitute sacrifice, pointing forward to Jesus Christ—the Lamb God would ultimately provide for the salvation of the world.

In John 13, Jesus, knowing He was Lord of all, humbled Himself and washed His disciples' feet. He showed that true greatness in God's Kingdom is found in serving others, not being served. Just as sin entered the world through pride and self-will in Genesis, Jesus demonstrated the opposite spirit through humility, obedience, and sacrificial love. The cross would soon reveal the full extent of that love.

From Eden to Abraham to the upper room, Scripture reveals the same truth: humanity falls, God provides, and Jesus serves and saves. The Lord continually calls His people to trust Him, walk in humility, and follow the example of Christ, who gave everything so we could be reconciled to God.

Sometimes the very struggle we're begging God to remove is the tool He's using to draw us closer to Him. Paul prayed three times for his thorn to be taken away, yet God's answer was, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9). In our strength we often drift toward self-reliance, but in our weakness we learn to abide in Christ, depend on His power, and seek Him through prayer. Don't waste the struggle—let it drive you deeper into God's presence, where humility grows, faith is strengthened, and His grace proves more than enough.

Hebrews chapters 1 and 2 make it clear that Jesus Christ is far more than a prophet, teacher, or good man. He is the very Son of God through whom all things were created and by whom all things are sustained. While God spoke through the prophets in times past, He has now spoken fully through His Son. Jesus is higher than the angels, worthy of worship, and seated at the right hand of God in power and authority.

Yet the same Jesus who reigns in Heaven willingly stepped into our world and took on flesh. He experienced suffering, temptation, and death so He could rescue us from the power of sin and the fear of death. Because He walked where we walk and faced what we face, He is able to help those who trust in Him. Hebrews reminds us not to drift away from such a great salvation, but to keep our eyes fixed on Christ—the King who became a servant so that sinners could become children of God.

Galatians 3:13-18 and 22-28 teaches us that there isn't a man alive who can earn his way to Heaven by being "good enough." We've all sinned and fallen short. That's why Jesus stepped in and paid a debt we could never pay ourselves. Salvation isn't earned through hard work, good deeds, or trying harder next time. It's a gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ. No matter where you come from, what you've done, or what your past looks like, the ground is level at the foot of the cross.

In John 6:33-40, Jesus calls Himself the Bread of Life. Just like a farmer can't live without food and water, our souls can't live without Christ. People spend their lives chasing money, possessions, success, and pleasure, only to find themselves empty. Jesus offers something this world never can—true peace, forgiveness, purpose, and eternal life. And He promises that anyone who comes to Him in faith will never be turned away.

Luke 20:9-19 reminds us that God has always reached out to His people, yet many refuse to listen. The landowner sent servant after servant, and finally his own son, but they rejected them all. Jesus was speaking about Himself. The same choice stands before us today: will we accept the Son God sent, or reject Him? The world may push Christ aside, but He is still the cornerstone everything else must be built upon. A barn with no foundation won't stand long, and neither will a life built on anything other than Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 3:20-22

In 1 Peter 3:20-22, Peter points back to Noah and the ark, where only a few were saved through the floodwaters. He explains that baptism is a picture of that salvation—not the washing away of dirt from the body, but an appeal to God for a clean conscience through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because Christ conquered death, rose again, and now reigns at the right hand of God with all authority, those who place their faith in Him can stand secure in the salvation He provides.

Four people stabbed at a campground. Many will say it was just a disagreement, just anger, just drugs, just alcohol. But Jesus warned us that in the last days lawlessness would increase and the love of many would grow cold (Matthew 24:12). What we're witnessing across our nation is not just isolated incidents—it's the result of a world moving further from God and people becoming lovers of self rather than lovers of truth. The answer is not merely more rules, programs, or policies. The answer is Jesus Christ changing hearts. As violence, hatred, and division continue to rise, let it remind us that God's Word is true and our need for Christ has never been greater. Watch the video and ask yourself: are we seeing exactly what Jesus warned us about?
