In Colombia, 120 women are rewriting their futures.
Many are heads of household: widowed, abandoned, displaced, or supporting families alone on little to no income. Public support often falls short, and affordable, quality training is hard to find.
That's where the Daughters of Charity step in.
Through the Mujer Familia Corporation, founded in 2003, women receive hands-on training in beauty services, sewing, crafts, culinary arts, and entrepreneurship, in addition to personal and spiritual formation that restores confidence and dignity. Many go on to launch their own micro-businesses, earning stable incomes and supporting their children's education for the first time.
As one Sister shared: "Many have achieved their entrepreneurship, giving them the satisfaction of a dignified, stable job... and being a messenger of peace as a contribution to society."
This is more than skills training. It's a path from vulnerability to independence, one woman, one family, one community at a time.
