🌿 Take a Breath This Summer 🌿

Join us for our first Taizé service of the summer on Tuesday, June 23, at 6:00 p.m. in the church.

Taizé is a simple, contemplative service centered on prayer, silence, candlelight, scripture, and meditative music. In the midst of busy schedules and constant noise, it offers a peaceful space to slow down, listen for God’s presence, and simply be.

Whether Taizé is a familiar spiritual practice or something entirely new, all are welcome.

We were so glad to welcome The Rt. Rev. Amy Dafler Meaux, Bishop of the Diocese of West Missouri, to St. Andrew’s last Sunday! In The Power of Waiting, Bishop Amy reflects on the in-between moments of faith—those seasons of uncertainty, change, and waiting when God is still at work. Her Ascension Sunday message reminds us that even when the next step isn’t clear, Christ has given us what we need for whatever comes next. We’re grateful for her presence and this timely word for our community.

Offer Your Foreign Language This Sunday!

This Sunday, May 24, we celebrate Pentecost, the day the Holy Spirit empowered Jesus’ followers to share God’s love across languages and cultures. To help bring that story to life, you’re invited to join in at the Gospel reading during the 8:00 and 10:15 a.m. services by reading John 20:19-23 aloud along with the deacon in any language, foreign or English.

No sign-up is needed, and you won’t need to come forward. Simply join in from your seat as the Spirit gives you voice. You can find the passage in many languages at Bible Gateway.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not be in want.”

In this week’s sermon, The Rev. Rita Kendagor reflects on Jesus as the Good Shepherd—our protector, provider, and guardian who leads us beside still waters, restores our souls, and remains faithfully present even when we cannot always see it.

The Good Shepherd: A Guardian Beyond Measure invites us to hear again the promise of Psalm 23 as a psalm for living: God’s goodness and mercy are with us, and rest itself can be part of holy trust.

Join us this Sunday, April 26 at 5 p.m. for An Evening in the Caribbean, a festive cocktail party at HJ’s Youth and Community Center benefiting St. Augustin’s School in Maniche, Haiti.

Through St. Andrew’s partnership, about 450 students receive an education—and this event helps fund the school’s hot lunch program, providing meals students rely on each day. Enjoy a cocktail, light bites, and hear how this ministry continues to grow and make a difference.

Childcare will be available, so families can fully enjoy the evening.
