O God, today we celebrate the beginning of a new school year. It is a day filled with joy and excitement, as well as uncertainty and wonder. We pray for all schools that they may be lively centers of learning, new discovery, and the pursuit of goodness. May this year be full of promise for students and hope for teachers as they experience a fresh start. Please protect the health of all that their well-being this year is in mind, body and spirit. In the name of Christ who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
