Midtown Baptist Temple A church in Midtown KC for all peoples with a focus on learning and living out the Word of God.

Midtown Kansas City is a culturally, racially and demographically diverse community. In November 2007, God has in His providence, placed our church right in the center of this great mix! So, we are trusting God to continue to build our church to be a reflection of the community we serve. When Christians think of missionary history, the names most often remembered are the bold pioneers, famous martyrs, and larger-than-life evangelists. Yet some of Christ's most influential servants lived lives marked not by public acclaim but by quiet, steadfast faithfulness. In this episode, we con

The purpose of mission trips can differ based on what the trip is designed for. Some trips are to visit church plants and to edify the members and disciples of that church. Some trips are to help with a retreat, conference, or an activity that the church is putting on to do outreach to their communi

Instead of our annual All Church Retreat, we’re excited to gather for something new—a church-wide, multi-day experience designed to deepen fellowship and strengthen your faith.

Join us for the MBT Summer Series, featuring special guest Pastor Troy Stogsdill of First Baptist Church of New Philadelphia. He will be teaching on The Promise of Preservation—a powerful look at what the Bible says about itself and why we can trust that the Scriptures we hold are truly the preserved words of God.

The series begins Sunday morning and continues each evening through Tuesday, giving you multiple opportunities to engage, learn, and grow.

We’ve also built in intentional times for connection:

Monday night: Food trucks in the parking lot for dinner and fellowship

Tuesday night: Our regular family meal together

Throughout the week, we’ll be hosting optional daytime activities—so keep an eye out for ways to connect even more. A schedule and sign-ups will be available on this page shortly.

Join us for VBS this summer on July 6th-8th! We are partnering with Living Faith Lee's Summit and are excited to invite MBT and the surrounding community to the event. If you have elementary aged kids, you are invited to register them to participate in the VBS held at the LFLS church location in Lee's Summit. We are also looking to support this event with volunteers. We are hoping to go "all out" for this event, and so there are many roles we are looking to fill. Please consider signing up to help during the event itself, or helping decorate on any Sunday afternoon prior to the event. You can sign up online at the VBS event page on the website, or contact Andrew Best at [email protected] if you have questions.

Few responsibilities shape the next generation more profoundly than parenting, yet few areas of life are more vulnerable to subtle compromise, misplaced priorities, and spiritual drift. Many parents genuinely love their children, provide for their needs, protect them, and give them every opportunity to succeed, yet still unknowingly cultivate homes where Christ is not central, discipleship is neglected, biblical discipline is inconsistent, and a passion for the Lord slowly fades.

In this episode, we examine the hidden patterns that can poison a home over time—not only through overt abuse or hostility, but through distraction, passivity, emotional disengagement, worldly influences, and a lack of intentional spiritual leadership. We discuss the tremendous impact of parental example, the biblical purpose of discipline, the God-given mission of the Christian family, and how parents can cultivate a home where truth, grace, conviction, and authentic faith thrive together.

Whether you are raising young children, shepherding teenagers, preparing for parenthood, or reflecting on your own upbringing, this conversation offers a sobering yet practical challenge to evaluate the spiritual culture of your home and embrace God's design for biblical parenting.

Today, we are joined by Pastor Justin Trotter of Callie Harbin Baptist Church and a recent guest host on PS+, where he has been exploring the dangers of "Poisonous Parenting" and calling believers back to a Christ-centered vision for the home.
