Did you know… pastor Susan prayer walks the beach picking shells for confirmation each year. The confirmation students pick their shells that they will use and take with them as a keep sake.

Last night was the closing ceremony for our Grief Share group with a reverse Tenebrea service for grief.

The group began by acknowledging that 13 weeks ago their journey started in darkness, heaviness, and despair. The world felt dark and empty without their loved ones. But the Light was never extinguished, just dimmed by deep grief and tears.

The Christ candle was lit to restore hope and healing to hearts and then they lit 6 more candles each representing a different part of grief; feeling alone, deep sorrow, etc. Then each attendee lit a candle in honor of their loved ones showing that the light has overcome the darkness felt at the beginning of their journeys and each participant still has light, love and hope ahead for all of them.
