An Important Message from Rabbi Serle
Zoom Shabbat Services Begin This Shabbat!
Friends,
Beginning this Saturday morning, all services will be accessed on Zoom.
The main benefits of using Zoom:
- We will be able to see who is watching the service from home.

- If you watch from home, you will be able to have an Aliyah, to say the Mourners Kaddish for a loved one, to mention someone needing prayers of healing, or just talk with us.

- People love the live interaction!

May all who celebrate Yom Kippur have an easy fast and be sealed in the book of life.

'Twas the Night Before Yom Kippur
~by Robin English (with my sincerest apologies to Clement Clarke Moore)

‘Twas the night before Yom Kippur, when all through the town
Each Jew, now, was eating every bite of food found;
The table was full of carbohydrates galore
Because, after services, they’d be eating no more.

The children don’t fast, as everyone knows
Nor do the sick or the aged, as far as that goes;
But mamma is ready and dad’s ready too
For the 25 hours of food free time due.

When arriving at services there is so much to see
Keep your eyes and heart open, that is the key;
Right up to the doors, we walked from the lot,
Threw them wide open, as atonement we sought.

The Ner Tamid lit with its eternal glow
Gave a comforting light to the Aron Kodesh below;
And there on the bima I see it’s the cantor
Greeting the people with holiday banter.

The Rabbi, so happy, and all dressed in white
I knew at that moment it would be a long night;
He was wearing his gym shoes as up the aisle he came
You could tell he was really at the top of his game.

Kol Nidre, Kol Nidre, Kol Nidre that’s three,
All vows to G-d are forgiven, you are now free;
All others don’t count! You must make amends!
To those you have wronged, it’s time to be friends!

After services that evening, comes another full day
Of repenting, atonement and coming to pray;
Oh how the hours pass incredibly slow
Waiting, just waiting for the shofar to blow.

Tekiah Gedolah, the time comes at a last
For a very long, verrrrrrrrrrry long shofar-y blast;
The great book of life has been written and sealed
We’ll look to the future as our fate is revealed.

So just one more thing before we move on
And the 10 Days of Awe are once again gone;
Let me share with you this one holiday greeting,
Gut Yom Tov to all, now let’s begin eating!
