Mar-Lu-Ridge is a year-round outdoor ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America situated in the beautiful Catoctin Mountains of central Maryland. We serve through our summer camp, year-round retreat and conference center, and programs offered throughout the year. We offer lodging in cabins, a Lodge, and our beautifully renovated Ridge Inn. Our food service is top-notch and meets all di

We are located in scenic Frederick County, Maryland. An hour from Baltimore and Washington, DC.

💛“God’s work. Our hands.” is the official motto and annual day of service for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). This special day of service is set for September 13, 2026. Congregations across the ELCA will once again participate in this day that celebrates our shared calling to serve our neighbors and care for God’s creation.

👐We have light projects at Mar-Lu-Ridge for an afternoon of service together from 1-4pm. Together, we can continue sharing Christ’s love and strengthening a ministry that serves people of all ages throughout our region!

MLR Cookie Run 5K registration is LIVE! Doing a 5K for the cookies?! Great! Running to feel that great sense of accomplishment after running down and up a mountain?? Also great!! Doing it for the one of a kind wood cookie medal and sweet topo map bandana? Triply great!

As students begin a new school year, we highlight our partnership with Howard County Police Youth Programs and their Bear Trax Camp! HCP's Bear Trax program is for rising 6th graders and works to strengthen relationships between students and officers. Through adventure activities and lessons, campers have the chance to build self-confidence, understand and communicate their feelings, and relate to their peers and adults. MLR is proud to host Bear Trax!

(And yes, that is a Chef Tim ice cream cake with blue and red candles for the police car lights! 🚓😁)
