Today for National Donut Day, The Salvation Army of Jackson is visiting local law enforcement officers to say thank you for their service to our community.

We’re grateful for the officers, deputies, dispatchers, and support staff who work long hours, face difficult situations, and help keep our neighborhoods safe.

Thank you for standing watch, answering the call, and serving Jackson with commitment and courage.

Today for National Donut Day, The Salvation Army of Jackson is stopping by the Sheriff’s Office to say thank you to the deputies, detention officers, dispatchers, and staff who serve our community every day.

We are grateful for your dedication, your long hours, and the many ways you help protect and serve the people of Hinds County.

Happy National Donut Day!

National Donut Day began with the The Salvation Army to honor those who served soldiers during World War I.

Today, we had the privilege of delivering donuts to the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, the 172nd Airlift Wing, and our local first responders. Thank you for your dedication and service to our community!

A special thank you to True Care for sponsoring the donuts. We also appreciate the awesome True Care staff who joined us in passing them out. Thank you for your generosity, support, and time spent helping us make the day special! ❤️🍩

National Donut Day was established by The Salvation Army to honor the "Donut Lassies," the courageous women who served donuts and provided comfort to soldiers during World War I. Their acts of kindness, encouragement, and service boosted morale for troops serving overseas.

No matter what this week looked like, take a moment to rejoice. Rejoice in the small wins, the lessons learned, the doors God opened, and even the strength He gave you to keep going. Life may not always be perfect, but there is always something to thank God for.

Joy is not based on circumstances. It comes from knowing God is still faithful through it all. So today, choose joy. Choose gratitude. Choose to rejoice even while you wait for your breakthrough.
