With heavy hearts, the Mississippi Episcopal Area and the Mississippi Conference of The United Methodist Church announces the passing yesterday of Mrs. Doris Perry Morgan, the mother of Bishop Hope Morgan Ward. Bishop Ward served as Mississippi's resident bishop from 2004 to 2012. Mrs. Morgan passed away at the age of 97.

We ask that you join us in keeping Bishop Ward, Mr. Mike Ward, their family and all who loved Mrs. Morgan in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time of grief and transition. May they feel the comfort of God's presence and the deep peace of Christ in the days ahead.
