I praise God for the Heritage that God gave me through my Daddy.
One year ago today, God brought him into glory.
I will always be thankful for the Godly man my daddy sought to be.
May I be the image of God for my kids that He was to me.
Because of the Word of God and the loving Work of Jesus Christ, I can say with confidence: "One day I will join you in the presence of our Lord & King. I'll see you soon."

THE PASTOR’S KID

Being a pastor’s son or daughter means growing up with a calling you did not choose, but a life you were born into.
It means your father is not only your father.
To many people, he is their pastor, counselor, teacher, prayer warrior, and spiritual leader.

And many times, you quietly share him with everyone else.
You learn that Sunday is not always a family day.
You learn that your father may have to leave because someone needs him.
You learn to smile when people are watching.
You learn that mistakes can feel heavier when everyone knows whose child you are.

Sometimes, people expect you to know more Bible.
Pray better.
Behave better.
Dress better.
Speak better.
Live better.
Not because you are perfect, but because you are the pastor’s kid.

And when you fail, it can feel like your failure does not belong only to you.
Sometimes people judge the pastor by the life of his children.
Sometimes they place expectations on a son or daughter that God never placed on them.
Sometimes they forget that behind the title is simply a young person trying to grow, trying to understand faith, trying to find their own walk with God.

Being a pastor’s child can be a beautiful privilege, but it can also come with silent struggles that few people see.

So let us be gracious.
Behind the title “Pastor’s Kid” is a heart that is still growing, still learning, and still finding its place in God’s story.

And perhaps one of the greatest gifts we can give a pastor is not only supporting his ministry, but also caring for the family that quietly shares in its cost.
