Westwinds CHURCH FOR ANYONE. We gather every Sunday at 9:30a & 11:15a. Westwinds is here to shadow God, build the church, and heal the world.

Shadowing God reminds us that we must stay in step with God's plan for us as individuals. We are never fully formed; we are always works-in-progress. That work progresses only by staying in step with the Spirit and being constantly malleable and edited by God. Building the church means we recognize that Christian spirituality is not an individual sport. Church is plural, and God's purposes for rec

onciliation involve us sorting out our relationships with the people around us. Healing the world connotes the fact that our salvation is neither privatized or communized, but expressed most faithfully in mission. We invite the Spirit to change us and to create a holy community of similarly simultaneously changing people, so that together we can effect change in the world.

It’s easy to imagine the church as our church.

Our denomination.
Our tradition.
Our people.

But what if the story is much bigger than that?

This week, we explored one of the most misunderstood lines in the Apostles’ Creed: “the holy Catholic Church and the communion of saints.” Not as a statement about one denomination, but as a vision of a people connected across generations, cultures, and places by the work of God’s Spirit.

Some of us have ideas about what to do with God or Jesus but "The Holy Spirit"... That’s where things often get a little fuzzy.

This week, we explored why the Spirit isn’t an optional part of the Christian story. From empowerment and reconciliation to hospitality, transformation, and hope, the Spirit has always been at the center of what God is doing in the world.

If you missed it, you can watch or listen here.

Most of us have complicated feelings about power.

We’ve seen what happens when people use power to control, protect themselves, build their image, or get what they want. Maybe we’ve been hurt by it. Maybe we’ve participated in it.

This week, we looked at one of Jesus’ final promises: “You will receive power.” But the power of the Spirit turns out to look very different than the power we usually imagine.

What if real power isn’t found in control, but in vulnerability, service, and love?

If you missed it, you can watch or listen here.

We witnessed 6 people get baptized today! What a great Pentecost Sunday! Join us in celebrating with and praying for them, while we also remember our own baptisms.

A lot of us hear the word “judgment” and immediately feel fear.

Like God is angry. Disappointed. Waiting to catch us doing something wrong.

But what if we’ve misunderstood judgment entirely?

This week, we explored the possibility that judgment isn’t about condemnation nearly as much as restoration—that maybe the heart of God has always been to heal, separate us from what harms us, and make things right.

If you missed it, you can watch or listen here.

For a lot of us, judgment feels more threatening than hopeful.Even if we believe God is loving, the idea of standing before Jesus still stirs up fear, anxiet...

A lot of us imagine heaven as somewhere far away.
Like Jesus finished his work, disappeared into the clouds, and we’re just waiting for him to come back someday.

But what if that’s not the picture at all?

This week, we explored the ascension, the throne, and the strange possibility that heaven is closer than we think—that Jesus is still actively at work, and inviting us to join him in the ordinary moments of everyday life.

If you missed it, you can watch or listen here.

What if some of the questions we’ve been asking about faith… aren’t the ones Jesus was trying to answer?

For a lot of us, hell is one of those questions. It’s complicated, uncomfortable, and easy to either avoid or overdefine.

This week, we didn’t try to solve it. We stepped into how Jesus actually talked about it—and what he might have been inviting people to see about their lives right now.

If you missed it, you can watch or listen here.
