Have you ever walked through a painful season and wondered what God could possibly be doing in the middle of it? Last night’s Mid-Week Equipping Service reminded us that while pain is inevitable, God never wastes it.
Drawing from Hebrews 11 and 12, Pastor Jason showed us that before the men and women of faith were known for their victories, they first walked through seasons of testing, hardship, disappointment, and pain. Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Rahab, Gideon, Paul, and even Jesus all endured difficult seasons that God ultimately used for His purpose and glory.
One of the strongest takeaways from the night was that the very area of our deepest pain may become the place where God reveals His greatest grace. Just as fresh oil comes through pressing, God often develops strength, endurance, character, and deeper dependence on Him through the seasons we would never choose for ourselves.
We were also given practical, biblical tools for processing pain God’s way through prayer, worship, gratitude, fasting, generosity, and spending time in His presence before the storm ever arrives. Rather than running from pain, we were encouraged to allow God to work through it and trust Him in the process.
Our Student Ministry experienced a powerful night of their own as Pastor Caleb posed the question, “What are you building on?” Through a message on building upon the rock, students were encouraged to establish their faith on the firm foundation of Jesus, creating a life that can withstand any storm.
We closed the evening encouraged, equipped, and believing for fresh oil to be poured out over our families, our homes, and our church. What a powerful night of growth, discipleship, and encountering God’s presence together. 🙌🔥
