Today we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.

Mother Angelica had a simple confidence in the Blessed Virgin Mary and in the power of the Rosary. When speaking about this devotion, she recalled Our Lady’s call to pray the Rosary and her conviction that the world could change if people truly answered that call. Mother Angelica’s response was characteristic of her faith:

“If my Mother says, ‘Say it,’ I’m gonna say it.”

For Mother Angelica, praying the Rosary was more than a devotion to fit into the day. It was an act of trust, a willingness to listen to the Blessed Mother and allow her to lead us more deeply to her Son.

On this Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, let’s follow that simple example and pray together.

Consider offering at least one decade for the intentions of our EWTN Family.

In a noisy world, St. Bruno reminds us of the power of silence and faithfulness.

Today, October 6, the Church remembers the founder of the Carthusian Order, whose life of prayer, simplicity, and contemplation has inspired Christians for more than nine centuries.

The Carthusian motto captures that witness beautifully:

“The Cross stands while the world turns.”

Everything around us may change. Christ does not. Today, consider setting aside just a few quiet minutes for God. What might He be asking you to hear?

St. Bruno, pray for us.

St. Bruno is remembered as the founder of the Carthusian Order, a religious community that has quietly witnessed to the power of prayer, silence, and contemplation for more than nine centuries.

Meet Abbey from Colorado. 🐾

Abbey was shared with us as part of our St. Francis of Assisi pet blessing post, and we wanted to give her a special spotlight. The tradition of blessing animals around the Feast of St. Francis is a simple reminder that all creation is a gift from God and that even the animals who share our homes can point us toward gratitude, care, and joy.

Thank you for sharing Abbey with the EWTN Mission Partners community!

Blessed are you, O Lord, who for the sake of our comfort give us domestic animals as companions. Let us bless the Lord: Blessed be God for ever.” - Book of Blessings, Blessing of Animals

St. Francis of Assisi has long been associated with animals because of the reverence he showed for all of God’s creation. Over time, Franciscan spirituality gave rise to the popular custom of blessing animals on or near his October 4 feast day.

Is your pet being blessed this weekend? Share a photo with us in Facebook Messenger and tell us your pet’s name.

St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us.

St. Francis of Assisi’s joyful life of poverty, deep love for Christ, and reverence for all creation have inspired countless people to live the Gospel with simplicity, humility, and charity.
