The devastation in Nepal continues to unfold. The death toll from the catastrophic flash floods has now tragically surpassed 1,400, with over 5,600 people still reported missing across the region.

Our local teams in Nuwakot are working tirelessly to provide shelter, food, and daily care for children and families who remain trapped after the main bridges were washed away.

On August 26, catastrophic flash floods triggered by a glacial collapse swept through Bagmati Province in Nepal. The disaster destroyed dozens of bridges, damaged over 25 miles of roads, and cut off entire villages northwest of Kathmandu. The devastation continues to climb, and reports now confirm that over 1,200 lives have been lost, with thousands more still missing across the region.

Devastating flash floods in Nepal have swept through Nuwakot, destroying critical bridges and leaving over 350 dead.

We are so grateful to share that all 20 of our sponsored children in Nuwakot are safe! Half of the children are currently sheltering in our partner church building after the main bridge washed away, and our local team is actively caring for their daily needs.

We are mobilizing emergency relief supplies for these children, their families, and neighboring families impacted by the disaster.

ServLife International envisions the Gospel bringing freedom, dignity and fullness of life to the poor and oppressed. This vision is rooted in Ephesians 4:11-13, "He gave some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers. His purpose was to equip God’s people for the work of serving and building up the body of Christ until we all reach the unity of faith and knowledge of God’s Son. God’s goal is for us to become mature adults—to be fully grown, measured by the standard of the fullness of Christ."

As we cross the halfway point of 2026, we are incredibly grateful for how your partnership is transforming lives in India and Nepal. God is moving in amazing ways, helping us end last year by raising over $1 million for the first time ever and allowing us to operate with a positive margin every month this year. Thanks to your generosity, we also exceeded our spring fundraising goal by raising nearly $53,000 to fuel essential programs. On the ground, we are seeing incredible impact, including equipping 18 new lay leaders in Nepal and launching a new microfinance initiative to help families achieve economic independence. Furthermore, we celebrated a successful summer camp in India and welcomed over 80 new children into our educational sponsorship program. We remain committed to operational excellence by welcoming new staff, honoring Steve Hurry for his dedicated service, and renewing our ECFA membership for financial transparency. This past year, the vibrant energy of Vacation Bible School filled the air in Nepal, bringing together children, local leaders, and international partners for a truly blessed time. Led by our Nepal Director, Bekharaj, the program reached young hearts in Kathmandu and the nearby region of Nuwakot.
