WORDS OF WISDOM
FROM THE PASTOR DESK

“SOMETHINGS YOU JUST DON’T DO!”

Do not be agitated by evildoers, do not envy those who do wrong. For they wither quickly like grass and wilt like tender green plants.

Trust in the Lord and do what is good; dwell in the land and live securely. Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart’s desires.

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act, making your righteousness shine like the dawn, your justice like the noonday.

Be silent before the Lord and wait expectantly for Him; do not be agitated by one who prospers in His way, by the person who carries out evil plans.

Refrain from anger and give up your rage; do not be agitated--it can only bring harm. Somethings You Just Don’t Do. Think about that before you GO!

OVERDRAFT PROTECTION

People cannot do any Work that will make them right with God (Romans 4:5).

If Christ had not covered us with His grace, each of us would be overdrawn on our heavenly bank account. When it comes to goodness, we would have insufficient funds, inadequate holiness. God requires a certain balance of virtue in our account, and it's more than any of us has alone.

Our Holiness account shows insufficient funds and only the holy will see the Lord. What can we do? We could try making a few deposits. Maybe if I wave at my neighbor or compliment my (wife), my (husband) or go to church next Sunday. I’ll get caught up. But how do you know when you’ve made enough?

If you are trying to justify your statement, forget ever having peace. You are trying to justify an account you can’t justify. “It is God who justifies” (Romans 8:33). Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. So, get going, pray for spiritual deposits.

WHAT IF?

Everything you do or say should be done to obey Jesus your Lord (Colossians.3:17).

Mary and Mary (Magdalene) knew a task had to be done. Jesus body had to be prepared for burial. Peter didn't offer to do it, Andrew didn't volunteer, so the two Mary's decided to do it. I wonder if halfway to the tomb, they had sat down and reconsidered. “What if”? What if they looked at each other and shrugged? What’s the use. What if? What if they had given up?

“What if”? What if one had thrown up her arms in frustration and bemoaned. I'm tired of being the only one who cares. Let Andrew do something for a change. Let Nathaniel show some leadership. Whether or not they were tempted to, I'm glad they didn't quit. That would have been tragic. You see, we know something. It didn't.

We know the Father was watching Mary and Mary. They thought they were alone, they weren't. They thought their journey was unnoticed, they were wrong. GOD Knew. That's why I go.

WORDS OF WISDOM
FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK

“In The Presence Of The King”.

The King that rules forever, who will never die, who cannot be seen, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever.

The whole purpose of coming before the King is to praise Him, to live in recognition of His splendor. Praise lifting up our heart and hands, exulting with our voices, singing His praises is the occupation of those who dwell in the Kingdom.

Praise is the highest occupation of any being. What happens when we praise the Father? We re-establish the proper chain of command; we recognize that the King is on the throne and that He has saved His people. “Walk with the king”.

WORDS OF WISDOM
FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK

“WHAT COULD JESUS GIVE?”

At dawn on the first day, Mary Magdalene and another woman named Mary went to look at the tomb. (Matthew 28:1)

It isn't hope that leads Mary and Mary Magdalene up the mountain to the tomb. It is duty, naked devotion.

They expect nothing in return. What could Jesus give? What could a dead man offer? The two women are not climbing the mountain to receive, they are going to the tomb to give.

There is no motivation more noble. Service prompted by duty. This is the call of discipleship. A Call To Go!
