“Dear young people, the happiness you are seeking, the happiness you have a right to enjoy has a name and a face: it is Jesus of Nazareth, hidden in the Eucharist. With Mary, say your own “yes” to God, for he wishes to give himself to you.”
-Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, Address to pilgrims at the World Youth Day in Cologne, Germany, 2005

Thank you for visiting the page for the Vocations O

ffice for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis! Why are we here?

-We are here to foster a culture of vocations within our parishes and in our families in exciting & dynamic ways.

-We are here to encourage God’s people to seek the face of God, and to assist those whom God has invited to respond to His call to priesthood or consecrated life.

-We are here to support the men in formation who are studying for and discerning the diocesan priesthood. Please pray for our men studying at Bishop Simon Bruté, Saint Meinrad, and Mount St. Mary's (Cincinnati) Seminaries.

-We are here to witness to truth. Our generation is in need of authentic witnesses to the Gospel. Priests and religious are vital to the life of the Church, essential to our own spiritual growth and the realization of our call to holiness of life. What, you say!? Well, priests are necessary to the sacramental life of the Church. No priests= no sacraments. The sacraments are the lifeblood of our Christian faith, providing divine nourishment and sustenance, offering forgiveness and healing, and giving us the grace to conform ourselves more deeply to Christ. Like water, the sacraments provide spiritual refreshment and health, essential to our life in Christ. Priests and consecrated men and women are living signs in the world that God intends so much more for us than what this immediate world has to offer. They remind us that there is something of great value worth giving our whole selves to, that all of us are called to seek God above all things. In their lives and ministry, priests and religious teach us, heal us, pray for us and love us. God has a plan for each one of us. A plan that will bring us fulfillment, happiness, and holiness. Trust Him! “For I know well the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans for your welfare, and not for woe. Plans to give you a future full of hope.” Jeremiah 29:11. So what are you waiting for? Take a look at our webpage- www.HearGodsCall.com. Meet our current seminarians and some of our priests of the Archdiocese, learn about events going on near you and find useful discernment information for you or to share with a friend. There are also great resources for youth ministers, teachers, and parents.
