A massive immigration enforcement operation swept across Indiana today, with reports, videos and eyewitness accounts of federal agents appearing throughout Indianapolis, Central Indiana and other parts of the state.

Throughout the day, social media was flooded with videos of federal immigration officers conducting stops and detentions. Reports came from multiple Indianapolis neighborhoods, apartment complexes, businesses and major roadways, with additional reports emerging outside the city.

Among the locations circulating online were Hacienda Apartments, areas near Sam’s Club, the 38th Street corridor and other locations across Indianapolis. Reports also surfaced from Bloomington.

Some videos showed people being questioned or detained as federal officers moved from location to location.

Indy Reporter reported that sources described federal officers working across Indiana and Ohio as part of a coordinated immigration enforcement sweep targeting specific individuals while also resulting in alleged collateral arrests and enforcement involving semi-truck drivers.

For many immigrant families, the operation created fear and uncertainty as videos and warnings spread rapidly online throughout the day.

The exact number of arrests and the immigration status of everyone detained have not yet been publicly confirmed.

Regardless of where you stand on immigration, today made one thing clear: federal immigration enforcement has become highly visible across Indiana.

Did you see ICE or other federal agents in your area today? What city or neighborhood?

🎶 Welcome Mark Enyart, our new Director of Music!🎶
A Terre Haute native and son of a Quaker minister, Mark grew up surrounded by church music. After trying violin, clarinet, and piano, a teacher suggested the organ — he tried it, loved it, and went on to major in organ at Butler University. He's since served churches of many denominations and even played historic organs across Europe.
We are excited to resume our music program at Irvington UMC. If you are interested in joining the choir or bell choir, please contact the church office (317-356-7231) or join us for our Sunday worship at 10:30 am. We would love for you to be part of this beautiful community at IUMC.
