Pastor Jonathan continued the *Unsung Heroes* series with a message titled **“The Other Judas.”** When most people hear the name Judas, they immediately think of Judas Iscariot, the disciple known for betraying Jesus. But this message shined a light on another Judas—Judas Thaddeus—a disciple who receives very little attention in Scripture and is only recorded speaking once.

Yet despite his limited mention, Judas Thaddeus left behind a powerful example. He was not defined by the failure associated with the other Judas. Instead, he was known for his character. Many scholars believe he was given the nickname *Thaddeus* because it means "big-hearted" or "courageous-hearted." He faithfully followed Jesus, carried the presence of God, and served without seeking recognition or applause.

The message challenged us to consider what kind of legacy we're building. In a world that constantly seeks attention, platform, and recognition, Judas Thaddeus reminds us that faithfulness matters more than fame. It is far better to be quietly known by God for doing what is right than to be widely known by people for doing what is wrong.

What an amazing way to close out the month of May at Diversity Church! We gathered together on a beautiful Sunday for powerful worship, encouraging fellowship, and another impactful message from Pastor Jonathan Ember in the *Unsung Heroes* sermon series.

We also took time to celebrate all that God is doing in and through our church. From looking back on incredible events like this past week's Indianapolis Indians game, where more than 100 people from our church family came together for a night of fun and connection, to looking ahead at opportunities to invest in the next generation through youth camp. Time and time again we've seen students encounter the living God, experience freedom, and have their lives changed forever, and we're excited to see what God will do this year.

There is so much happening at Diversity Church, and we don't want you to miss any of it! If you'd like to stay up to date on upcoming events, ministry opportunities, and everything God is doing in our church family, be sure to follow our page and share our posts with others. There are people all around us who need hope, community, and the Good News of Jesus Christ. Let's be His hands and feet and help spread the word about what God is doing!

In the third entry of the Unsung Heroes series, Pastor Jonathan Ember delivered a powerful message titled “A Fallen Hero.” The title itself carried a double meaning as Pastor Jonathan examined two men from Scripture: one remembered in songs and celebration, and another who is rarely spoken of—King David and Uriah, the faithful soldier and husband of Bathsheba.

Through their stories, Pastor Jonathan contrasted two very different paths. One man fell from grace through his dereliction, indulgence, and deception, while the other fell in honor, marked by duty, discipline, and integrity. The message challenged us to examine our own lives and ask what kind of character we are building when nobody is watching.

It was a sobering but impactful reminder that titles, influence, and reputation do not replace obedience and integrity. God values faithfulness, and true honor is found in living with wholehearted devotion to Him.
