The Secret Hidden in Strength’s Shadow

Every true, noble, and odd mercy becomes material for praise. The antidote isn’t stoicism but specific prayers that exchange imagined catastrophes for actual gratitude. Rejoicing as Rebellion Against Doom
Joy becomes revolutionary when anchored in Christ’s nearness rather than circumstances. Like geese hunting imaginary jewels, we choose where to fix our gaze – either on scarcity or the Provider walking beside us. This defiant gladness softens hardened faces into invitations. Gentleness flourishes when we remember the Lord’s return could outpace our next complaint. Rejoicing twice disrupts despair’s rhythm.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand.

When Unity Gets Tangled in Toilet Paper

Paul’s plea to Euodia and Syntyche mirrors our tendency to fracture over trivialities. Like two women remembered only for their conflict, we risk becoming defined by petty disagreements rather than gospel partnership. Unity requires laying down preferences – whether about ministry methods or bathroom supplies – to preserve what truly matters.
