Two weeks in a row, different people have walked through our church doors carrying a Bible in a new language to add to our Bible table.
It may seem like a small gesture, but it has been a huge encouragement—especially because some of these Bibles have already been taken by people who speak those languages!
We’ve shared this several times, but the school system right around us has more than 80 countries represented and over 90 languages spoken. God has placed us in an incredibly diverse community, and we want to be a church that is ready to love and minister to the people He has placed around us.
That’s why we’re continuing to add Bibles in different languages to our Bible table, and we’ve also launched a translation service on Sundays for anyone whose primary language is not English. When you come to Ascend, you can find simple instructions in our lobby for how to access the translation during the gathering.
These may feel like small steps, but they communicate something we deeply believe:
No matter where you’re from or what language you speak, when you walk through these doors, we want to be ready to welcome you, serve you, and point you to Jesus.
We want to be a church for the community God has placed us in, and we’re thankful for a church family that continues finding practical ways to make that a reality.
