Crete Presbyterian Church is a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA), the largest Reformed body of mainline Protestants in America. Our roots are in the Reformation in Scotland in the 16th century. Crete is a rural church in the Presbytery of Kiskiminetas, which is made up of 79 congregations in the c
ounties of Armstrong, Clarion, Elk, Indiana, and Jefferson County, PA. Crete is a Christ-centered church, active in community ministry, and part of the "Communities of Faith" covenant with Shelocta and Trinity (Clarksburg) Presbyterian. We are led by five Elders and three Deacons, committed to living out Christ's teachings. While we remain our own church, we are united with these congregations in a covenant of faith and service. With our mission offerings, we support the Alice Paul House (domestic violence shelter) in Indiana, ICCAP food pantry, disaster relief through the One Great Hour of Sharing, Peacemaking, and Joy (retired Church workers, racial/ethnic education) special offerings of our larger Church. With our Presbytery, we support clean water projects in Rwanda, care for the elderly at St. Andrews Village, Indiana, and two Church camps. Three Crete families take an active part in the Miracle League at the YMCA in Indiana, PA.
