🙏🏾 Papa, Mother, First Love,

Our hearts long for your peace and presence. Our minds are so distracted by all the noise around us. Help us to press into you.

Help us to seek you first in all things. Help us to live each day according to your Holy will. With you O' God, we have all we need to bring us into an abundant, joy filled, peaceful life. For without you, we have nothing. Thank you for loving us. We love you, help us to love you more. Amen.

White Christian nationalism is a false Gospel rooted in white supremacy. It is bolstered by churches originally formed to defend slavery and the old Confederacy. The United States is for everyone, but white Christian nationalists embrace anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, while demanding special rights for white far-right MAGA evangelicals. Jesus was for all the world, not any one nation. He broke the bonds of oppression. Let’s speak plain: White Christian nationalism is incompatible with the teachings of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.

🙏🏾 God of many names,
God of LGBTQIA+,
God of divine love,

We thank you for Pride Month, a vibrant celebration of courage, truth, and love.

Thank you for our LGBTQIA+ community – le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r, intersex, asexual, and all who live beyond labels -- who inspire us with resilience and authenticity.

As an ally, I pray for strength to stand with them,
to honor their stories, to build a world where love knows no bounds, and all are free to live and love fully. Amen.

A Prayer For Father’s Day

We give our thanks, Creator God, for the fathers in our lives. Fatherhood does not come with a manual, and reality teaches us that some fathers excel while others fail. We ask for your blessings for them all and forgiveness where it is needed. This Father’s Day, we remember the many sacrifices fathers make for their children and families and the ways, both big and small, they lift children to achieve dreams thought beyond reach. So, too, we remember all those who have helped fill the void when fathers pass early or are absent - grandfathers and uncles, brothers and cousins, teachers, clergy and coaches - and the women of our families. For those of us who are fathers, we ask for wisdom and humility in the face of the task of parenting. Please give us the strength to do well by our children and by you. In your Holy name, 0 God, we pray. Amen.

❤️💚🖤 A special Juneteenth prayer submitted by Rev. Dr. Lawrence T. Richardson, Associate Conference Minister for Church Vitality and Transitions at the Michigan Conference UCC:

"May God, the Liberator, Redeemer, and Sustainer of all, give strength to all who fight against injustice, unharden the hearts of racists, bigots, and angry people, and ignite a love and compassion so strong that it drives out all hate and bitterness. May it be so for the memory of the enslaved who were freed in death; may it be so for the descendants of the formerly enslaved; may it be so for the descendants of the slavers; may it be so for a more just and generous future where every person of every shade and hue can live together in peace, civility, and harmony.

May it be so. Asé and Amen."

Fundamentalism is a cancer in all religions. Rigid doctrine and interpretation should never replace God’s commandment to love.
