Alleluia. Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Alleluia!

This is our new dog Pax which means Peace. Pax is waiting for me to be done with my sermon for tomorrow.

What Pax doesn’t realize is that we are all waiting.

Today is Holy Saturday. The time where Jesus is dead and yet defeating Hell.

The altar is bare. The church is silent. Church rests in the tomb.

This is the in between where there is no certainty of tomorrow, yet we live with hope and expectation of what’s to come.

Holy Saturday reminds us that God is still at work even when nothing seems to be happening. It is the day between grief and joy, between the cross and resurrection, between what we fear is the end and what God is already preparing as a new beginning.

Be like Pax and know that God is and always will be Emmanuel.

Today is Good Friday.

With solemn hearts, we remember the suffering and death of Jesus on the cross. "When Jesus had received the wine, he said, 'It is finished!' Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit" (John 19:30).
