Trinity Sunday is a time to reflect upon the nature of God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Sometimes God calls ordinary, imperfect people to do extraordinary things. We hear Jesus send doubting disciples into the world with the Gospel, not trusting in themselves, but in His authority, His promises, and the powerful name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Join us as we reflect on Christ’s reassuring promise: “I am with you always.” We'll be in Matthew 28:16-20.

Not Alone

Sunday is Trinity Sunday, a time to reflect upon the nature of God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Sometimes God calls ordinary, imperfect people to do extraordinary things. This Sunday we hear Jesus send doubting disciples into the world with the Gospel, not trusting in themselves, but in His authority, His promises, and the powerful name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Join us as we reflect on Christ’s reassuring promise: “I am with you always.” We'll be in Matthew 28:16-20

My Life for the Kingdom

What does it take to heal a family after trust has been broken, after lies have covered up abuse for decades? What does it mean to repent and what does repentance look like in a situation like that? In our after worship Bible study we continue to look into the life of Joseph and his brothers. We'll see that God had a plan for healing this family trauma, and ultimately to bless the world.

Thanks for reading! See you Sunday.

Peace,
Pastor Pete

Pentecost reminds us that the Holy Spirit does more than meet our spiritual thirst—he turns us into “streams of living water” for others. We hear Jesus’ invitation, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink,” and celebrate how we have been blessed in Christ so that we can bless others. We'll be in John 7:37-39.

Pentecost Sunday: Blessed to Bless

Pentecost reminds us that the Holy Spirit does more than meet our spiritual thirst—he turns us into “streams of living water” for others. Join us this Sunday as we hear Jesus’ invitation, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink,” and celebrate how we have been blessed in Christ so that we can bless others. We'll be in John 7:37-39.

You can see Sunday's sermon (and many others) on our website: emmanuelhudson.org The sermon for each Sunday typically posts on Saturday night.

My Life for the Kingdom

How much do you trust God's plan? In our after worship Bible study we will continue to follow the twists and turns of the Joseph story. As we look into the "elevated" Joseph's interaction with his brothers we have to explore concepts like love, trust, and wisdom and how we apply them in our own lives. Join us!
Thanks for reading! See you Sunday.

Pastor Pete

Body in Motion

Fear can leave people frozen in place, but the ascended Christ calls his people into hope, confidence, and motion. This Sunday we’ll explore Paul’s words in Ephesians 1:15–23 and what it means to belong to a Savior who reigns over all things for the good of his church.

Lord's Supper

Also on Sunday we will celebrate the Lord's Supper. Scripture admonishes us all to examine ourselves before we join together in the Sacrament. Luther's catechism includes a guide to that spiritual self examination. You can find it in the catechism, on page 295 of the "new" blue hymnal, page 156 of the "old" red hymnal or here: https://catechism.cph.org/en/questions-answers.html

My Life for the Kingdom

How do you react when you've been wronged? Revenge? Forgiveness? How long does it take to realize that God is at work even in the messy details of life? In our after worship Bible class we return to the story of Joseph as he and the brothers deal with some very messy family dynamics. We'll be in Genesis 42:1-38.

He Knows Your Name

Do you know how powerful it is to hear someone remember your name? This Sunday we reflect on God’s promise in Isaiah 43:1 that before anyone else knew us, the Lord knew us, redeemed us, and called us his own. We invite you to join us for the confirmation of Roger Huth as we celebrate God’s faithful promises to his people.

After the worship service we'll have a reception with cake to celebrate Roger's big day. No Bible class this time--next Sunday we will get back into "My Life for the Kingdom."

Ascension Day

Thursday, May 14 is Ascension Day, when we remember that Jesus returned to his Father with the promise that he will return to us one day. We're invited to worship that evening with our brothers and sisters at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Prescott, 1061 Orrin Rd. at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
