ce to reflect on the many views that God creates - views made visible through the forgiveness, healing, acceptance and hope of Christ's love. We experience the many ways God has worked in our lives and in the lives of others. We understand that God uses us to be a loving presence in the world and often calls us into places of service and outreach. This journey is ever evolving yet centered on the grace embodied in the story of Jesus. It is grace that teaches us to "welcome without exception, listen without judgment, and support without prejudice ALL people." We invite you to join us on this journey. We look forward to the many views that God has in store for us as God uses us to be a healing and renewing presence in this world.

"Almighty God, your Son Jesus Christ dignified our labor by sharing our toil. Guide us with your justice in the workplace, so that we may never value things above people, or surrender honor to love of gain or lust for power. Prosper all efforts to put an end to work that brings no joy, and teach us how to govern the ways of business to the harm of none and for the sake of the common good; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."

A prayer as we begin the season of Autumn-

Waken in Me a Sense of Joy

O extravagant God,
in this ripening, red-tinged autumn,
waken in me a sense of joy
in just being alive,
joy for nothing in general
except everything in particular;
joy in sun and rain
mating with earth to birth a harvest;
joy in soft light
through shyly disrobing trees;
joy in acolyte moon
setting halos around processing clouds;
joy in the beating of a thousand wings
mysteriously knowing which way is warm;
joy in wagging tails and kids' smiles
and in this spunky old city;
joy in the taste of bread and wine,
the smell of dawn,
a touch,
a song,
a presence;
joy in having what I cannot live without —
other people to hold and cry and laugh with
joy in love,
in you;
and that all at first and last
is grace.
