Every Christian is called to imitate our heavenly Father. But what does that actually look like in daily life? In this week’s sermon from Ephesians 5:1-7, Brandon Charbonneau preached on what it means to walk in love the same way Christ loved us — giving Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. We looked at Christ’s perfect loyalty, why sexual immorality, greed, filthy talk, and coarse joking are acts of disloyalty to our King, and why no unrepentant person living in these sins has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. True Christianity is not just believed — it is lived. It is experiential. The Holy Spirit confirms the truth as we obey it.

Discover what it means to be imitators of God as beloved children. In this powerful sermon on Ephesians 5:1-7, learn how to walk in Christ’s loyal, sacrificial love and why sexual immorality, greed, filthy talk, and coarse jesting are acts of disloyalty with no inheritance in God’s kingdom. There is no neutral ground. In our recent sermon from Ephesians 4:25-32, Brandon Charbonneau unpacked how the Holy Spirit who lives inside us makes every moment consequential — our words, our anger, our work, our speech, and our hearts. We looked at what it really means to put off the old self and put on the new self in everyday life: speaking truth, resolving anger before sunset, working honestly so we can give, using our words to build others up, and forgiving as God in Christ forgave us.

Every single day you are either living for God’s Glory or grieving the Holy Spirit. Discover a powerful summary of this Ephesians 4:25-32 sermon on putting off the old self, speaking truth, resolving anger, and forgiving as Christ forgave you. No neutral ground exists.

In a world full of uncertainty, there’s deep comfort in knowing that nothing is random. God doesn’t leave our lives to chance — He has chosen us, loved us, and planned our steps before the foundation of the world. That’s not a burden… that’s rest.

That’s not fear… that’s steadfastness. Listen to why biblical predestination is one of the sweetest truths for the believer’s heart.

A lot of young guys today are walking around with no map for manhood because their fathers never gave them one. I wrote about the generational weight we all feel, the rebellions we see, and how the gospel (and real spiritual authority) can actually break the cycle.

You can read my thoughts here, as I coalesce more thoughts for my book on Authority, I will be posting a bit more.

"Many young men today feel lost — no example, no training, no map for manhood. Discover how the Bible breaks generational cycles of weak or absent fathers through Christ and real spiritual authority."

Stop running to extra books, new revelations, dreams, or “prophets” before you’ve fully believed what God already gave us.

This is the Word of God — complete, final, and sufficient. 🔥

It’s not just money left behind when someone dies. It’s so much more. When God gives you an inheritance, He’s saying: “These are Mine.” You now have a new identity. You’ve been given a portion with God. You are now His. This truth changed how I see myself — and it can change you too.

In this week’s sermon from Ephesians 4:20–24, the Lord draws a sharp, unbreakable line: there are only two ways to approach Jesus. One reduces Him to human effort, feelings, and natural explanations. The other hears Him and is taught in Him by the Holy Spirit through the living Word of God.

We unpack what it really means to lay aside the old self, be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self created in righteousness and holiness. This is not comfortable Christianity — it’s the real thing.

If you’re tired of shallow, self-help “faith” and hungry for true sanctification, listen to this message.

n Ephesians 4:20-24, Paul draws a sharp line between pagan Christianity and true faith. Discover how to lay aside the old self, be renewed in your mind, and put on the new self created in righteousness. A powerful call to real sanctification through the Holy Spirit and the preached Word.

If you haven’t taken a gander at the absolute dearth of what passes for deep thinking these days, let me help you understand why the Church of God is so fragmented right now.

We keep blaming the internet, the culture, bad leaders, or algorithms. But the deeper truth is far more sobering: this fragmentation isn’t ultimately from man. It is from God.

We are where we are because we love to have our ears scratched.

In the new post on the blog, I (attempt to)walk through 1 Kings 22 and show how God can sovereignly permit a multitude of flattering, self-appointed voices when His people reject sound doctrine and crave teachers who tell them what they want to hear.

I also speak plainly about the explosion of young men in their 20s and 30s (which includes me) starting podcasts and teaching platforms before they’ve learned to sit under real authority, and women stepping into teaching and authority roles in direct disregard of 1 Timothy 2 and Titus 2.

This isn’t cultural whining. It’s a biblical diagnosis.

If you’re tired of the noise and ready to face the hard but hopeful path forward — recovering real authority, patient training, and faithful failure under the ordinary means of grace — I’d encourage you to read the full piece and check out Evangel Presbytery, where seasoned men and women can help you on this path.

Discover why the Church is so fragmented today. A Reformed pastor explains how God has sovereignly allowed it because we love itching ears and self-appointed prophets. Lessons from 1 Kings 22 on authority, training, and biblical order for men and women.
