Good morning church family!

This past Lord’s Day I preached part two of our series on Biblical Sexuality, Man, Woman, Marriage, and the Church. In this message, I unpacked the husband’s high calling from Ephesians 5: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her.”

Headship is not optional or cultural — it is creational and gospel-shaped. Men are called to lead, protect, nourish, and sanctify their wives and families with sacrificial, decisive love. Wives are called to *flourish* under that godly covering. I also addressed honestly where we have failed as men and women, and pointed us back to the hope we have in Christ, who loved His rebellious bride while we were still His enemies.

Scroll through social media or sit in many church services today and you’ll hear a lot about “unity.” We post the same Bible verses, sing the same worship songs, and pat ourselves on the back for being “one in Christ.” But is this the deep, transformative unity Scripture calls us to, or is it mostly symbolic surface-level agreement?

Let’s go back to Ephesians 4, where Paul lays out God’s blueprint for unity in the Church: “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ…” (Ephesians 4:11-13 NKJV)

True unity isn’t just liking the same posts or avoiding hard conversations. It’s not pretending doctrinal differences don’t matter or gathering under a vague “Jesus loves everyone” banner while rejecting authority.

Biblical unity is built on submission to God-ordained leadership.Jesus gave pastors and teachers (shepherds who feed, protect, and equip) to the Church for a reason. Their role isn’t optional or secondary — it’s essential for maturity. Without humble submission to these leaders, we remain:

Spiritual infants “tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine” (v.14)
Easily deceived by clever arguments and trendy teachings
Stunted in growth, unable to reach “the fullness of Christ”

This June, as rainbow flags fly everywhere, the Church faces a clear choice: Will we be known for division… or for the ministry of reconciliation? (No this is not a pro Pride Month post, it's pointing out how we have lost the ministry of reconciliation)

One of the few books that actually addresses the sexual perversion of our modern day is The Grace of Shame by Tim Bayly, Joseph Bayly, and Juergon Van Hagen.

"The Grace of Shame" by Tim Bayly is a bold, biblical look at how the modern church has failed to truly love people struggling with same-sex attraction — not by softening the truth, but by avoiding it. With clarity and compassion, it calls the Church back to speak honestly about sin, repentance, and the transforming power of the gospel in an age of sexual confusion.

If you want to use your time wisely this June, I would suggest reading this book, internalizing it, and evangelizing to your sexually lost neighbor.

Why don't Christians just turn into puddles of sadness and misery at how sinful they are? Isn't it over because we are just undone?

No, this is what makes us strong, that we do not rise on our own, fight on our own, or live on our own, but through Christ in Us.
