Houghton/Michigan Tech’s Mosque was recently highlighted as one of the most isolated mosques in America — 159 miles from the nearest other mosque.

For many communities, a masjid is nearby. For us, it is different. In a place this remote, keeping our masjid open and active is not just about a building. It is about preserving a space for salah, community, support, and belonging for students, families, and local Muslims in the Upper Peninsula.

This distance is exactly why our masjid matters so much.

Alhamdulillah, here is the recording of our MSA workshop with Dr. Ali Awad on using Agentic AI to streamline workflows and improve productivity.

Held at the MTU Mosque on April 18, 2026, this session gave attendees a hands-on introduction to practical AI tools and real workflow applications.

On commencement day, we will hold an additional Jumu’ah prayer at 1:50 PM to accommodate graduating students and their families.

The regular Jumu’ah prayer will remain at its usual time.

Additional Jumu’ah: 1:50 PM sharp
Expected end: around 2:05 PM, in sha Allah
