As a new year of formation and discernment begins, we're excited to celebrate the men discerning a call to the priesthood for the Diocese of Rapid City. First up is Deacon Blane Schriock!

This past spring, Dcn. Blane was ordained to the Order of Deacon, an important milestone on his journey to the priesthood. This year, he returns to The Saint Paul Seminary for his Vocational Synthesis Stage, the final stage of seminary formation before priestly ordination.

During the Spring 2027 semester, Dcn. Blane will divide his time between Saint Paul and the Diocese of Rapid City, gaining deeper experience in parish ministry and continuing his preparation for life as a diocesan priest. This unique stage of formation provides the opportunity to integrate everything he has learned throughout seminary as he prepares to serve God's people as a priest.

Please join us in praying for Dcn. Blane as he continues to respond generously to the Lord's call and takes these final steps toward priesthood.

Be assured of our prayers, Dcn. Blane. We look forward to witnessing all that God has in store for you.
