📢 ATTENTION: Trigg & Christian County Livestock Producers
The Farm Service Agency (FSA) has noted that our area officially reached D3 Drought Status today. As a result, the Livestock Forage Program (LFP) is expected to be triggered soon.
While the local office is waiting for the official "green light" to begin processing, they are encouraging everyone to be proactive so you are ready the moment applications open.
📋 What you need to do NOW:
• Inventory Count: Record your official livestock head count as of today, April 23, 2026.
• Check Your Crop Reports: Ensure your 2026 crop reports accurately show your grazing acres.
• Keep Records: Payment rates are typically set per head, so accurate documentation is vital.
📞 Stay Informed
The FSA office is working to get ahead of the rush. Please call the office first to check on the status of the program before making a trip in person.
Help us spread the word—tag a neighbor or share this post to ensure our local cattlemen and producers get the support they need during this drought.
