Gracious and loving God, as a new school year begins across our beloved islands, we come before You with grateful hearts. We thank You for the gift of learning, the joy of discovery, and the opportunity to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and compassion. Today we lift up every student throughout Hawaiʻi. From our youngest keiki taking their first steps into the classroom to those preparing for graduation and the next chapter of their lives, surround them with Your love. Calm anxious hearts, awaken curious minds, and fill them with confidence to become all You have created them to be. Help them to be kind to one another, to stand up for what is right, and to remember that each person they meet is made in Your image. We pray for our teachers, educational assistants, administrators, counselors, school staff, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, custodians, and all who dedicate themselves to the care and education of our children. Grant them patience when the days are long, wisdom when decisions are difficult, creativity in their teaching, and strength when they are weary. May they know that their work shapes not only minds but also hearts and futures. Bless the parents, grandparents, caregivers, and families who support their children each day. Give them encouragement as they guide homework, celebrate successes, and comfort disappointments. Strengthen the partnerships between homes, schools, and communities so that every child may flourish. We pray especially for our schools here in Hawaiʻi. May they be places of safety, respect, and aloha. Teach us to mālama one another, to care for the ʻāina that sustains us, and to honor the many cultures and traditions that make these islands such a beautiful home. May the spirit of aloha guide every classroom, every playground, every school bus, and every conversation. When challenges arise, remind us that You walk beside us. When fear or uncertainty comes, fill us with courage. When success is found, keep us humble and thankful. May our learning always lead us to greater understanding, deeper compassion, and faithful service to others. Bless this school year from beginning to end. Protect all who travel to and from school each day. Let friendships grow, gifts be discovered, and hope abound in every heart. We entrust this year to You, O God, asking that Your wisdom be our guide, Your peace be our companion, and Your love be our foundation. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Teacher and our Savior, we pray. ʻĀmene.

Here is the GoFund me link that was mentioned in worship for 9-month old Kaleilehua who is in need of a liver transplant. Her parents, Wailani and John, need to be with Kaleilehua in Seattle while their 3 other children are taken care of here, making their needs great at this time. If you feel so inclined, please feel free to donate. Let us continue to hold Kaleilehua and her entire ʻohana in prayer!
