Last week, we looked at 9 of the 10 plagues that God wrought upon Egypt on behalf of His people to deliver them from cruel slavery. On this Communion Sunday, we come to both the worst of the plagues upon Egypt... and the greatest deliverance of Israel. God proves his power and covenant love toward his people and points to the greatest and true Passover Lamb, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.

Today's message by Pastor Kendal Fong comes from our series "Exodus: God Makes A Way." The title is "Behold the Lamb" and comes from Exodus 12:21-31, with additional looks at John 1:29 and 1 Corinthians 5:7.

God has made clear his command that His people must be freed. He has heard their cries and is answering. But the Pharaoh of Egypt has refused God's messengers, Moses and Aaron. God's promise to display His mighty works in Egypt comes fully to bear against an increasingly obstinate Pharaoh.

Today's message by Dr. James Kwong comes from our series "Exodus: God Makes A Way." The title is "The God Greater Than Egypt" and comes from Exodus chapters 7-11. Dr. James Kwong is a long-time member of KUC. He and his family have deep roots here both learning from and teaching the Word of God. Dr. Kwong has received his Doctor of Ministry and Master of Divinity from Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, CA.

Moses and Aaron obey God and confront Pharaoh. But, instead of improving, the Israelites' suffering becomes even worse. In the midst of discouragement and doubt, God reminds Moses that He has heard His people's cries and will faithfully fulfill His promises to rescue and redeem them.

O Heavenly Father, You always make a way for us when we cry out to You. Your ways are far higher than our ways. Your plans are always good. Please forgive me when I have forced my plans to be satisfied solely in my strength and my timing. Forgive me when I have taken matters into my own hands. Allow for me to see that I can daily trust You and wait upon You. Help me to find comfort in the moments of waiting. When life shifts unexpectedly and I find myself in a dry, unknown place, help me to trust that You are still preparing me for something else. Please remind me that no season of waiting is wasted when placed in Your mighty hands. Thank You that You see the suffering I go through and You hear my groaning. You always keep all Your promises. Help me to remember or discover them and to trust in You. May You strengthen my faith in You, for what is ahead, will be good in the Lord. In Jesus name, Amen

Thank you to everyone who donated, packed supplies, and served. We pray these gifts encourage students, support teachers, and remind our neighbors that they are seen, valued, and loved.

Exodus 1:7
"But the people of Israel were fruitful and increased greatly; they multiplied and grew exceedingly strong, so that the land was filled with them."

Today we start our new series on Exodus. As we look for our next Senior Pastor, remember God's faithfulness. No matter what life throws at us, we can always rely on the fact that our God is a faithful God. Exodus is a great example of how God is able to make a way to keep His promises even when we think there is no way. Even when His people failed and wandered, God remained present, making a way for their physical and spiritual restoration. Exodus reminds us that no obstacle is too great for the Creator of the universe. We can put our trust in God because He always makes a way according to His perfect plan.

First Annual Kalihi Union Church Family Camp!🏕️

We’re so thankful for the time of fellowship, laughter, worship, games, and making memories together as a church family. It was a joy to see each family step up to serve—whether leading meals, helping behind the scenes, or simply loving and encouraging one another.

Most of all, we’re grateful that God was honored throughout the weekend. We pray the friendships that were strengthened and the moments shared continue to encourage our church family long after camp.

A huge Mahalos to the Centino family and everyone who helped plan, organize, cook, and serve to make this camp possible. We appreciate all the time, effort, and love that went into making it such a special weekend.

Already looking forward to Family Camp 2027! 🙌🏕️
