Chaplain: Dr. Reggie Rushing has been the Chaplain here at Holden Beach Chapel since September of 2018. Before beginning his ministry here, Reggie was the senior pastor of Louisburg Baptist Chhurch in Louisburg, NC for 15 years. He holdes Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Campbell University. They have three adult children and five precious grand-children. Reggie has been the

Pastor of Louisburg Baptist Church since February of 2003. He brings a style of worship to Louisburg that can be described as "relaxed liturgical." Although the Lectionary is usually used for the scripture lessons, the worship services are warm and personable. Reggie has an extensive background in church music and holds Bachelor degrees from Wake Forest University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He has a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degree from Campbell University.

After pastoring churches in Sims, Durham, Connelly Springs, Edenton, and Clinton, NC, Dr. Cava became the Senior Minister of First Baptist Henderson, NC in 2012. Dr. Cava has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Campbell University, the Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the Doctor of Ministry degree from Campbell University Divinity School.
He is married to Shirley who is a 7th Grade Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher. Ron and Shirley are natives of the Tidewater, Virginia area, having moved to North Carolina in 1983. They have four adult children, two wonderful sons-in-law, five grandchildren. And they also have a blue-eyed, deep-soul (she thinks she's human) dog named Bella. Dr. Cava states he enjoys dabbling in genealogy, loves music, plays really bad golf, is an avid Boston Red Sox fan, and drinks too much coffee.

Our Guest Minister for Worship and Communion on June 7th is is Rev. Dr. Roger Elliott.

Dr. Elliott is a retired United Methodist minister who resides in Cary. He and his wife, Jackie, graduated from Tabor City High School. Dr. Elliott continued his education at Campbell University, Duke Divinity School, and Drew Theological Seminary. He has served churches in Roanoke Rapids, Durham, Fayetteville, and New Bern. He has also served as a District Superintendent for six years and he concluded his active ministry as Sr. Pastor of Edenton Street, UMC (1995-2008) in Raleigh.
Dr. and Mrs. Elliott have two daughters and four grandchildren. In retirement they have enjoyed family time, golf, reading and travel.

Our Guest Minster for May 31st is Dr. J. Richard "Rick" McDuffie, Jr.
Dr. McDuffie was born in Southport, and grew up in the lower Cape Fear region. He and his wife, Debbie, live in Harnette County, NC. Dr. McDuffie earned the Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy from Campbell University and the M.Div. and D. Min. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. After more than 20 years as a Baptist pastor, he transferred his ordination over to the Presbyterian church. He "officially" retired in the summer of 2021. Dr. McDuffie is now serving part-time as Pastor of the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Wendell, NC. His wife, Debbie, is a retired teacher and school administrator. They have three married daughters and seven grandchildren.
