First Baptist Church of Shallotte

First Baptist Church of Shallotte And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Make disciples. That is what Jesus told us to do. So our mission is simple. Love One Another.

In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commanded:
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. We exist to make disciples who:

Love God.

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with a

ll your soul and with all your mind.’" (Matt. 22:36-37). Love One Another.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35)

And Love the World. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

Love God. Love the World. This is our mission. Our values. Our strategy. It's just that simple.

Thank you, First Baptist Church of Shallotte! I’m back!

These 8 weeks have given me some time to rest (much needed), reconnect with Kim (best part), connect with the grand girls (next best part!) study, write, listen to the Lord, reflect on the last 34 years of full-time pastoral ministry, and to look ahead to what comes next. And God’s timing is ideal as always. Next week I will celebrate 21 years of ministry as Lead Pastor of FBCS!

Soon I will be sharing with you a recap of my sabbatical, along with some things I learned and how God worked in my life in these 8 weeks.

I cannot adequately express my gratitude to our leaders, Deacons, and, especially, Pastor Kevin, Kristy, and Cheryl for your hard work and ministry in my absence! This was possible because of you!

I will be back in the pulpit Sunday, June 7, as we start a message series in the book of Colossians. I look forward to what God has for us!
In His grace,
Pastor Bob
