I have preached the Gospel for more than seventy years and have always spoken clearly that salvation comes through Christ alone. I cannot save anyone, but I’ve tried to tell everyone who would listen that Jesus died once for the sins of mankind and that salvation is a one-time transaction between an individual and the Lord Jesus Christ. . . .

Many say if they would be given a miraculous sign from God, they would believe. But the most miraculous of God’s work is transforming the sinner’s heart into a blood-bought soul that will love Him wholly. God knows the heart of every person and longs to apply His redeeming blood to that person’s soul, washing away the darkness of sin and the fear of eternal judgment. But he or she must come to Jesus Christ in brokenness, exchanging sin for salvation.

We talk about the sacrifice that Jesus made for us, but we seldom talk about the sacrifice He expects from us. While salvation is purely the work of Jesus on the cross, our acceptance of it is dependent upon our sincerity. The Bible says,

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,

A broken and a contrite heart—

These, O God, You will not despise.

(Psalm 51:17)

I have extended Christ’s invitation to people around the world saying, “Come just as you are.” But when you come, you must leave your defiance and rebellion behind and come in submission, for in that moment of repentance the Savior of your soul will become the Master of your life. (Billy Graham)

James 5:11 Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord -- that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

Jesus asked this question; "Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?"? And in another place He spoke directly to Satan these timeless words; "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." If there was ever a time to believe these words, it is now, even as the world stands on the brink, and the earth groans in the travail of childbirth. Some of us have the opportunity of a lifetime to get through our particular trial, in faith. The Lord Jesus will be faithful to us, and He will abundantly reward our faith in Him. Let's stay the course.

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Psalms 37:3(KJV)

Many of us spend far too much time trying to figure out how we can get blessings for ourselves. People sometimes spend their entire lives trying to accomplish what they think is important, never trusting God or letting Him lead them. In the end, this leaves them depressed and unfulfilled.

Psalm 37:3 says, “Trust, in the Lord and do good, .” God didn’t create us to worry about helping ourselves all the time. He wants us to sow good seed by reaching out to help others. And doing good brings great satisfaction because it feels great to make a difference. It also opens the door for God to bless you in a greater way.

You need to trust God to bring the right blessings into your life. While you’re waiting for His perfect timing, get busy helping others. You’ll actually feel relieved when you aren’t thinking about yourself all the time.

Trust God and get busy doing the good things you know to do. He’ll faithfully bless you and meet your needs.

Prayer Starter: God, I don’t want to live a selfish, self-centered life. I trust You to bring the right blessings into my life while I’m busy doing good for everyone You’ve placed in my life.
