This weekend, Troop 65 spent part of Memorial Day giving back in a quiet but meaningful way — cleaning veterans’ graves and restoring headstones at the cemetery.

As Scouts worked through the rows, many names slowly reappeared from beneath dirt, grass, and time. Dozens of stories. Dozens of Americans who served, sacrificed, and should never be forgotten.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It’s a reminder that freedom was paid for by real people with real names — and today our Scouts helped make sure those names could be seen again.

We’re proud of the respectful and solemn way our Scouts carried themselves throughout the service project. Small acts of service matter.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered to honor our veterans today.

A little Trailer Love from Troop 65 this weekend — just in time for summer camp.

Our Quartermasters — past, present, and future — along with Scout families spent time upgrading and cleaning the troop trailer to make sure it is ready for campouts, service projects, and the busy summer ahead. It was a great example of Scouts taking pride in their equipment and working together as a team.

Updates included:
• Trailer lights repaired
• New power distribution box and battery monitor installed
• New interior LED lighting added
• Replaced a badly corroded 7-spade trailer plug
• Deep cleaning and vacuuming
• Old decals removed and new Troop 65 graphics installed

Join us Saturday, November 15 at Purdue University Northwest (Hammond, IN) for a full day of learning, growth, and fun! Scouts can explore a variety of Eagle-required and elective merit badges, ranging from Citizenship in the World to Game Design.
