P: Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you and worthily magnify your holy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

P: Most merciful God,
All: We confess that we are in bo***ge to sin and cannot free ourselves. We have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. P: Beloved in the Lord! Let us draw near with a true heart and confess our sins to God our Father, beseeching Him in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to grant us forgiveness. Our help is in the name of the Lord.
All: Who made heaven and earth.
P: I said, “I will confess my transgression to the Lord.”
All: And you forgave the iniquity of my sin.
