We tried to make our own superhero… 🦸‍♂️😂

Turns out, you don’t have to manufacture a hero when you already know the Ultimate Hero.
Jesus. ✝️

And tomorrow, AWANA is back at Green Valley Baptist Church!

We’re ready for games, fun, Scripture, friendships—and most importantly, for kids to hear about the One who is the true Hero of the story.
Come meet our Hero, Jesus, and His sidekick Timothy as we dive into God’s Word and learn what it means to know Him, love Him, and follow Him. 📖

📖 MEMORY VERSE — WEEK 2!

We’re still working on Proverbs 3:7, and we’re not moving on until we’ve got this one down! 💪

This week, we’re going to keep practicing: say it, read it, repeat it, and see how much you can remember without looking. 👀

Parents, make it a family challenge! Who can say the whole verse from memory by the end of the week?

What Did We Learn in Sunday School? 📖

📖 1 Kings 6–8

🏠 God Wants to Dwell With His People

Have you ever gotten excited when a special family member comes to visit? You clean the house, prepare a special meal, and make plans because you want them to feel welcome!

When Solomon became king, the people of Israel spent seven years building a beautiful temple for God. Every detail was carefully planned and prepared. Cedar panels, ornamental flowers, bronze furnishings, and pure gold made the temple a special place to worship and remember that God was with His people.

When the temple was finished, Solomon prayed and dedicated it to the Lord. But Solomon knew something important: even the heavens could not contain God, much less a building!

The temple reminded God’s people of His presence, but then God did something even greater.

📖 “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” — John 1:14

Jesus came to earth to dwell among us. We don’t have to go to a temple to find God because Jesus came to us!

When we trust in Jesus, our sins are forgiven, and we have the promise that one day we will dwell with God forever.

💡 WHAT WE LEARNED:
• Solomon built the temple, but God cannot be contained in a building.
• The temple reminded God’s people that He was with them.
• Jesus is God who came to dwell among us.
• Those who trust in Jesus will live with God forever!

🏠 God Wants to Dwell With His People

What does it take to get ready when someone special is coming to visit? You might clean the house, prepare a special meal, and make plans to welcome them!

Tomorrow in Sunday School, we’re heading to 1 Kings 6–8 to learn about the incredible temple Solomon built for God. It took seven years to build, and every detail was carefully designed to honor God.

📖 “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” — John 1:14

We’ll see how the temple pointed to something much greater: Jesus came to dwell among us, and through Him we can live with God forever!

Love kids? Have a couple Tuesday mornings to give? We’re looking for caring, dependable people to serve in Kids Club 2 Tuesdays a month from 9:30 AM–12:30 PM.

And as our ministry grows, there may be opportunities for additional hours and work based on expanding ministry needs. 👏
