The Blessed Virgin Mary, blessed among women, shows us what unwavering faith looks like, a faith firmly rooted in God and a heart always open to the will of the Father. Her faithful “yes” meant becoming the Mother of the Messiah, and she remained united to her Son throughout His earthly life, even to the foot of the Cross.
Whatever trials came her way, Mary continued to trust in God’s promises. Her faith was not merely an acceptance of God’s will, but a generous and joyful surrender to His plan.
As we celebrate Mary’s Assumption, body and soul, into heavenly glory, we are reminded that Christ’s victory over sin and death is our hope as well. In Mary, we see the fulfillment of the destiny God desires for all who remain faithful to Him.
May Mary, our Mother and Queen, lead us ever closer to Jesus and inspire us to live with faith, hope, and holiness. May her example teach us to hear the Word of God, obey it, and trust in Christ through every trial.

La Santísima Virgen María, bendita entre todas las mujeres, nos muestra cómo es una Fe inquebrantable: una Fe firmemente arraigada en Dios y un corazón siempre abierto a la voluntad del Padre. Su fiel “sí” significó convertirse en la Madre del Mesías, y permaneció unida a su Hijo durante toda su vida terrena, incluso hasta los pies de la Cruz.
Cualesquiera que fueran las pruebas que se presentaran en su camino, María continuó confiando en las promesas de Dios. Su fe no fue simplemente una aceptación de la voluntad de Dios, sino una entrega generosa y gozosa a Su plan.
Al celebrar la Asunción de María, en cuerpo y alma, a la gloria celestial, recordamos que la victoria de Cristo sobre el pecado y la muerte es también nuestra esperanza. En María vemos el cumplimiento del destino que Dios desea para todos aquellos que permanecen fieles a Él.

Que María, nuestra Madre y Reina, nos conduzca cada vez más cerca de Jesús y nos inspire a vivir con fe, esperanza y santidad. Que su ejemplo nos enseñe a escuchar la Palabra de Dios, obedecerla y confiar en Cristo en medio de cada prueba.

As Father Mike said, "It's not a goodbye, it's an 'I'll see you later.'" Today, those words are helping us through this bittersweet moment.
Father Mike, thank you for walking with us through life's greatest joys and deepest sorrows. Thank you for your unwavering faith, your compassion, your laughter, your wisdom, and the love you so freely shared with each of us. You didn't just serve our parish, you became family.
Your presence has been a blessing, your prayers have brought comfort, and your example has inspired us to grow closer to God. While our hearts are heavy as you begin this new chapter, they are also filled with gratitude for the gift of having you in our lives.
We will miss your homilies, your smile, your encouragement, and the way you made everyone feel seen, welcomed, and loved. Though your path now leads you elsewhere, the impact you've made here will remain in our hearts forever.
Thank you for everything, Father Mike. May God continue to bless and protect you wherever He calls you. You will always be part of our parish family, and we look forward to seeing you around.

Como siempre decía el Padre Mike: "No es un adiós, es un 'hasta luego'." Hoy, esas palabras nos ayudan a sobrellevar este momento lleno de emociones.
Padre Mike, gracias por caminar a nuestro lado en los momentos de mayor alegría y en los de mayor tristeza. Gracias por su fe inquebrantable, su compasión, su alegría, su sabiduría y por el amor que compartió tan generosamente con cada uno de nosotros. Usted no solo sirvió a nuestra parroquia, sino que se convirtió en parte de nuestra familia.
Su presencia ha sido una bendición, sus oraciones nos han dado consuelo y su ejemplo nos ha inspirado a acercarnos más a Dios. Aunque nuestros corazones están tristes al verlo comenzar este nuevo capítulo, también están llenos de gratitud por el regalo de haberlo tenido en nuestras vidas.
Extrañaremos sus homilías, su sonrisa, sus palabras de aliento y la manera en que hacía que cada persona se sintiera vista, bienvenida y amada. Aunque ahora Dios lo llama a continuar su camino en otro lugar, la huella que ha dejado en nuestra comunidad permanecerá para siempre en nuestros corazones.
Gracias por todo, Padre Mike. Que Dios continúe bendiciéndolo y protegiéndolo dondequiera que lo llame a servir. Siempre será parte de nuestra familia parroquial, y esperamos verlo de nuevo muy pronto.

Today marked Fr. Michael Onwuemelie, C.S.Sp.'s final Mass as our Pastor, a farewell filled with emotion and hope. We witnessed an unforgettable moment.
At his final Mass as Pastor, Fr. Mike concluded with a gesture that spoke louder than words. In the presence of the faithful, he removed his Chausable and Stole and vested Rev. Daniel Ojochide Silas Abba, C.S.Sp., symbolically entrusting him with the pastoral care of the parish.
Fr. Mike described this moving act by recalling the moment when the Prophet Elijah passed his mantle to Elisha 2 Kings 2:13–14
Elijah was one of Israel's greatest prophets, a fearless servant of God who defended the true faith with unwavering courage. When the time came for his earthly mission to end, he did not leave God's people without a shepherd. Instead, he entrusted his mantle to Elisha, a visible sign that the same mission, the same calling, and the same Spirit would continue through another servant chosen by God.
The mantle was never about power or prestige. It represented a sacred responsibility, faithful service, and complete trust in God's providence. The mission belonged to God; the servant simply changed.

With hearts full of appreciation, we thank Fr. Mike for his 11 years of faithful, humble, and loving service to Holy Spirit Church. His legacy is written not only in memories, but in the lives he has touched and the faith he has strengthened.
With joy and prayer, we welcome Father Daniel as our new Pastor. May the Lord who called him clothe him with wisdom, courage, compassion, and the grace to shepherd God's people faithfully.
The mantle has been passed.
The mission continues at Holy Spirit Church.

May the Holy Spirit guide both shepherds, one beginning a new chapter, the other leaving behind a legacy of faithful service. ✝️🕊️

Hoy celebramos la última Santa Misa del P. Michael Onwuemelie, C.S.Sp., como nuestro párroco; una despedida llena de emoción, gratitud y esperanza. Hemos sido testigos de uno de esos momentos que permanecen grabados para siempre en el corazón.
Al concluir su última Misa como párroco, el P. Mike realizó un gesto que habló más fuerte que las palabras. Ante la comunidad de los fieles, se quitó la casulla y la estola y revistió con ellas al Rev. Daniel Ojochide Silas Abba, C.S.Sp., como signo del traspaso de la responsabilidad pastoral de nuestra parroquia.
El P. Mike explicó este conmovedor gesto recordando el momento en que el profeta Elías entregó su manto a Eliseo 2 Reyes 2, 13–14.
Elías fue uno de los más grandes profetas de Israel, un servidor valiente de Dios que defendió la verdadera fe con firmeza y sin temor. Cuando llegó el momento de concluir su misión en la tierra, no dejó al pueblo de Dios sin pastor. Encomendó su manto a Eliseo como un signo visible de que la misma misión, el mismo llamado y el mismo Espíritu continuarían por medio de otro siervo elegido por Dios.
El manto nunca simbolizó poder ni prestigio. Representaba una responsabilidad sagrada, un servicio fiel y una confianza absoluta en la providencia de Dios. La misión pertenecía a Dios; únicamente cambiaba el servidor.
Con el corazón lleno de gratitud, damos gracias al P. Mike por sus 11 años de servicio fiel, humilde y lleno de amor en la Iglesia del Espíritu Santo. Su legado no solo permanecerá en nuestros recuerdos, sino también en las vidas que ha tocado y en la fe que ha fortalecido.
Con alegría y oración, damos la bienvenida al Padre Daniel Ojochide Silas Abba, C.S.Sp., como nuestro nuevo párroco. Que el Señor, que lo ha llamado, lo revista de sabiduría, fortaleza, compasión y de la gracia necesaria para pastorear fielmente al Pueblo de Dios.
El manto ha sido entregado.
La misión continúa en la Iglesia del Espíritu Santo.
Que el Espíritu Santo siga guiando a ambos pastores: a uno que comienza un nuevo capítulo en su ministerio y a otro que deja un legado de servicio fiel y generoso para la gloria de Dios. ✝️🕊️

Happy Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul!

Today we celebrate two very different men united by one Lord, one Gospel, and one mission. Their friendship reminds us that authentic love is not afraid of truth.

In Galatians 2:11–14, Saint Paul lovingly corrected Saint Peter when his actions risked obscuring the truth of the Gospel. His correction was not an act of pride or division, but of deep charity, a courageous desire to preserve the unity of Christ's Church.
The Catechism teaches that ongoing conversion includes fraternal correction: humbly acknowledging our own faults and lovingly helping one another return to the path of the Gospel. True charity seeks not to condemn, but to restore.

With that in mind, thank you, Father Mike, for loving us enough to speak the truth with compassion. Receiving correction with humility is a beautiful sign of God's grace at work. As St. Jerome reflected, Peter accepted Paul's rebuke "with holy and loving humility," leaving us an enduring example that even those entrusted with great authority remain teachable. Likewise, Paul shows us that love sometimes calls us to speak difficult truths , not to win an argument, but to help one another remain faithful to Christ.

May Saints Peter and Paul intercede for us, that we may have both the courage to speak the truth in love and the humility to receive it with grateful hearts. When charity and truth walk together, they become a powerful witness to the unity and holiness of the Church.

Feliz Solemnidad de los Santos Pedro y Pablo!
Hoy celebramos a dos hombres muy distintos, unidos por un solo Señor, un solo Evangelio y una sola misión. Su amistad nos recuerda que el amor auténtico nunca está separado de la verdad.
En Gálatas 2, 11–14, san Pablo corrigió fraternalmente a san Pedro cuando sus acciones corrían el riesgo de comprometer la verdad del Evangelio. Aquella corrección no nació del orgullo ni del deseo de dividir, sino de una profunda caridad y del sincero anhelo de salvaguardar la unidad de la Iglesia de Cristo.

El Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica nos enseña que la conversión cotidiana incluye la corrección fraterna, reconocer con humildad nuestras propias faltas y ayudar, con caridad, a nuestros hermanos a volver al camino del Evangelio. La verdadera caridad no busca condenar, sino sanar, restaurar y conducir nuevamente a Cristo.

Con ese espíritu, gracias, Padre Mike, por amarnos lo suficiente como para anunciarnos la verdad con claridad y compasión. Recibir una corrección con humildad es un hermoso signo de la gracia de Dios actuando en el corazón.

Como escribió san Jerónimo, Pedro acogió la reprensión de Pablo con santa y amorosa humildad, dejándonos un ejemplo admirable de que incluso quienes han recibido una gran autoridad permanecen dóciles y dispuestos a aprender. Del mismo modo, san Pablo nos enseña que el amor, en ocasiones, exige decir verdades difíciles, no para vencer una discusión, sino para ayudarnos mutuamente a permanecer fieles a Cristo.

Que los santos Pedro y Pablo intercedan por nosotros, para que tengamos la valentía de decir la verdad con amor y la humildad de recibirla con un corazón agradecido. Cuando la verdad y la caridad caminan juntas, se convierten en un testimonio luminoso de la unidad y la santidad de la Iglesia.

Our Holy Spirit Parish family gathered with grateful hearts to celebrate and honor Father Mike as he entered a well-deserved season of retirement. While his time as our pastor came to a close, we found comfort knowing he will continue to remain close to our community here in Hemet.
Throughout the years, Father Mike has been far more than a pastor he has been a faithful shepherd, a compassionate listener, and an inspiring example of Christ's love in action. His humility, wisdom, and unwavering dedication have strengthened our parish and touched countless lives in ways that will never be forgotten.
His legacy is not measured by the years he served, but by the faith he nurtured, the hope he inspired, and the love he shared so generously with everyone he encountered. Because of his leadership, Holy Spirit Parish is stronger, more united, and more deeply rooted in God's love.
As Father Michael begins this new chapter, we pray that God blesses him with peace, good health, joy, and abundant grace. Although we will miss him as our pastor, we are incredibly thankful that he remains a cherished part of our parish family.

We also had a special moment of grace, Reverend Father Michael O Onwuemelie C.S.Sp received an Episcopal Blessing Award from the most reverend Bishop Alberto Rojas, presented on the Bishop’s behalf by Very Rev. Romeo Seleccion, MS, EV an encouragement and prayerful light for the years ahead as he enters retirement.

Thank you, Father Mike, for your faithful service, your countless prayers, and your unwavering commitment to God's people. Your example has left an enduring imprint on our hearts, and your legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
As you begin this new chapter, may God's peace, joy, and abundant blessings surround you each day. Thank you for the love, faith, and guidance you so generously shared with our parish family. Your legacy will continue to inspire us, and you will always be remembered with deep gratitude, admiration, and love. May God keep you close and bless you always.

Nuestra familia parroquial del Espíritu Santo se reunió con corazones agradecidos para celebrar y honrar al Padre Mike al comenzar una merecida etapa de jubilación. Aunque su tiempo como nuestro párroco llegó a su fin, encontramos consuelo al saber que continuará cerca de nuestra comunidad aquí en Hemet.

A lo largo de los años, el Padre Mike ha sido mucho más que un párroco; ha sido un pastor fiel, un oyente compasivo y un ejemplo inspirador del amor de Cristo hecho vida. Su humildad, sabiduría y dedicación inquebrantable han fortalecido a nuestra parroquia y han tocado innumerables vidas de maneras que jamás serán olvidadas.

Su legado no se mide por los años que sirvió, sino por la fe que cultivó, la esperanza que inspiró y el amor que compartió generosamente con cada persona que encontró en su camino. Al comenzar el Padre Michael esta nueva etapa de su vida, pedimos a Dios que lo bendiga con paz, buena salud, alegría y abundantes gracias. Aunque lo extrañaremos como nuestro párroco, nos sentimos inmensamente agradecidos de que siga siendo una parte tan querida de nuestra familia parroquial.

También vivimos un momento muy especial de gracia cuando el Reverendo Padre Michael O. Onwuemelie, C.S.Sp., recibió el Premio de Bendición Episcopal, otorgado por el Excelentísimo Obispo Alberto Rojas y presentado en su nombre por el Muy Reverendo Romeo Seleccion, M.S., E.V. Este reconocimiento representa un gesto de aliento y una luz de oración para los años venideros al iniciar su jubilación.
