Join us M, T, Th, and F mornings at 8:30 AM, and W after the 6 PM Mass, to pray the rosary in the month of May.
When Saint Bernadette Soubirous first saw the Blessed Virgin Mary in the grotto of Lourdes, she was overwhelmed by the heavenly vision. Instinctively, the young girl reached into her pocket and pulled out her rosary. What followed was a profoundly beautiful lesson. ๐น
Our Lady did not give Bernadette a long or complicated spoken instruction about the power of the Rosary. Instead, she taught her by a gentle and glorious example. The Blessed Mother smiled, took out her own rosary with shining white beads on a golden chain, and beautifully made the Sign of the Cross. She then waited for Bernadette to do the same.
As Bernadette began to pray, the Virgin Mary silently let the beads slip through her fingers. She listened lovingly to the Hail Marys. She did not recite the words herself, but when Bernadette reached the end of each decade, Mary bowed her head and moved her lips to pray the Glory Be. She joined her voice with the young saint to praise the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. โจ
This silent teaching at Lourdes reveals something deeply comforting. When we take hold of our rosary beads, we are never praying alone. Our Blessed Mother is right there beside us. She listens to our petitions, guides our hearts, and unites our prayers with her own perfect praise of God. She invites us to enter into this peaceful rhythm of grace. ๐๏ธ
Every time we begin this holy prayer, we can picture Our Lady looking down with that same loving smile she gave to a humble shepherd girl in France. She is always ready to pray with us and to gently lead us closer to Jesus. ๐ฟ๐๐ป
