Announcement:

David Puffenburger, husband of Susie Puffenburger, went to be with the Lord yesterday morning. Please remember Susie and family during this time of loss. The arrangements for David are as follows:

Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 21 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Central Chapel. The Jr. Order will be having a service at 4:30pm prior to the receiving of friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 22, also at Central Chapel.

· A covered dish fellowship meal for family and friends of the family will be served in Central Chapel’s Fellowship Hall after the service and interment. If you are able to assist the Deaconesses by providing food of any type for the meal, it would be greatly appreciated. You can bring your covered dishes with you to the funeral service. If you are unable to attend the service, but would still like to minister to the family at this time by providing food for the meal, you can drop your dishes off at the church any time after 8:00am on Monday morning (June 22).

Thank you for being a blessing and ministering to the Puffenburger family.

Life in the womb depends on a system so precise that even the smallest error would be fatal. One such example of this is the placenta.

In the womb, the placenta takes on nearly every vital role for the baby—acting as lungs to bring oxygen, kidneys to filter waste, a liver to process nutrients, a digestive system to provide food, and even an immune shield. Yet, in this delicate system, the baby’s blood and the mother’s blood never actually mix. If they did, the mother’s body would attack the baby’s blood as if it were an invader. The placenta perfectly manages this separation, protecting life until the moment of birth—when its mission is complete and it’s no longer needed.

This system has to be exactly right. If the blood mixed even slightly, if the barrier failed for just a moment, the pregnancy would end in tragedy. The placenta’s timing, function, and design show how it was carefully created for life to be possible.
