He is risen! He is risen indeed! Every year these words land differently - depending on what your year has held, what you've lost, what you're still waiting for. But the announcement doesn't change. The tomb is empty. Christ is risen. Happy Easter to you!

Sunday is almost here.

For some of you, Easter Sunday is the anchor of the year - the day the whole story clicks back into place. You've been walking through Holy Week, and you'll be in the pew early. We're so glad.

For others, it's complicated. Maybe church has been distant for a while. Maybe this year has been hard in ways that make the idea of hope feel fragile, not obvious. You're welcome here, exactly as you are, carrying exactly what you're carrying. No explanation needed, no catching up required.

And for anyone who's never really done this before - Easter is as good a place to start as any. Maybe better than most.

We'll say it on Sunday morning the way Christians have said it for two thousand years: He is risen. And we'll mean every word.

This is the quiet day. The disciples rested - but it wasn't peaceful rest. It was the rest of people who had no idea what would happen next. They didn't know Sunday was coming. We do. And somehow that makes today's waiting feel sacred. Tomorrow changes everything.

Good Friday.

Tonight at 7 PM: Traditional Tenebrae.

Tenebrae means 'darkness' and it's an ancient Good Friday service. Scripture, song, and slowly gathering darkness. As we are drawn into the Jesus' final hours, the candles go out one by one. By the end, the room is nearly dark. We leave in silence.

There's no other service quite like it. If you've been before, you know. If you haven't - tonight is a good night to come.

7 PM. Come as you are.

[Nursery and Kids' Church will be available at our 7 PM worship service.]

Good Friday.

This is the day the church doesn't look away. And we're glad you're here, or thinking about being here.

We have two services today, and they're very different from each other. Come to one, or come to both.

Art & Prayer · Noon
Art. Reflection. Prayer. Stillness. Step away from the noise and enter a sacred space for reflection. Join us for a reflective service as we journey through Jesus' final hours using sacred art, Scripture, guided prayer, and silence.

Traditional Tenebrae · 7 PM
Tenebrae means darkness. Over the course of this ancient service, the candles are extinguished one by one as we read, sing hymns, and reflect through the story of the Passion. By the end, the sanctuary is nearly dark. The service closes in silence.

It's solemn. It's meant to be. But there's something about sitting in that darkness together - knowing what Sunday holds - that is unlike anything else in the church year.

[Nursery and Kids' Church will be available at our 7 PM worship service.]

This is the hardest day. We don't skip it or soften it - because what happened here is the very heart of the story. The first words from the cross were not condemnation. They were forgiveness. Good Friday invites us to sit with that.

Tonight is Maundy Thursday - the beginning of what the church has always called the Triduum: three days, one story. Thursday. Friday. Sunday. You can't fully feel Easter if you haven't walked through what came before it.

Our service tonight moves through three scenes from the last night of Jesus' life.

First, the upper room - where he got down on his knees and washed his disciples' feet, and gave them a commandment that would define his church: love one another as I have loved you.

Then, the table - where he took bread and wine and said the words we still say today: Given for you. Shed for you. Here, Jesus meets us with his presence, his power, and his grace.

Finally, the garden - where he knelt alone in the dark and asked if there was another way. There wasn't. And he stayed anyway.

The service ends in a way you won't forget. The altar is stripped bare - the candles, the linens, everything removed - and we leave in silence. No closing hymn. No benediction. Just the weight of what's coming.

Good Friday is tomorrow. Easter is Sunday. Tonight is where the story turns.
